Tevon Gilmore also known as “Tey Br3zzy” early excursion into the hip hop arena started at a humble age of nine years old. When influenced by his uncle MBG from the hip hop group The Dynamic 3, Tevon decided to pursue a career in music and follow in his uncle’s footsteps. When Tevon started rapping his young cousin Brianna saw his potential and encouraged him by becoming his first fan. Due to her early and tragic lose to Sickle-Cell Anemia this gave Tey the additional driving force towards music, knowing it was also her dream to be a musician.

As Tey continued to face many obstacles such as love, hate, street violence, and the death of three of his closest friends, he channeled his energy into writing and sports in order to remain positive within the community of Norwalk, Connecticut, where he was born and raised. His mother, Karen Gilmore-Katt and his grandparents are a testament to Tey’s discipline and work ethic, which helped him excel in two sports, football, where he played as a running back and wide receiver, and lacrosse, where he was awarded a walk-on scholarship from Delaware State University.

During this time Tey was networking and decided to come back home to perform at a show in Danbury, Connecticut while on break from school. This led him to meet DJ Big Mike. Upon meeting DJ Big Mike, Tey entered his competition, “Whose Got Next!” held every summer to find the hottest unknown MCs in the state. Tey was awarded 2nd place among the scores of participants that entered. This led him to opening up for many mainstream acts such as, Joe Buddens, Cam’ron, Vado, Jadakiss, Big Sean, French Montana, and Whiz Khalifa, to name a few.

Tey believes in a Latin phrase Sic Parvis Magna, which means greatness from humble beginnings. This is why he strives to leave a positive mark in his community, and in music…
