Enriquez, to the Members of the Board of Trustees of Our Lady of Fatima University, to our distinguished Dean, Dr. Ramonita A. Salazar, School Administrator of Our Lady of Fatima University-Quezon City Campus, to our Senior High School Principal and Faculty Members as well as to our Family, Friends and Fellow Senior High School Graduates, a pleasant afternoon to us all. It’s quite surreal to think in the midst of the pandemic crisis due to the unforeseen widespread of this virulent coronavirus. By the grace of God, I am very much honored to have TABASAN, MARK BLOOMARIE G. BE-ABM 12P-MGT1 been given the opportunity to deliver my CLASS VALEDICTORIAN valedictory speech. I am euphoric at this very moment because the impossible has turned possible despite the hurdles and struggles we are all currently facing. To be honest, I thought that the thrill was over when I received my official certificate of graduation and when I claimed my academic excellence award for achieving the Highest Honors at the Registrar’s Office few months ago. Prior to that period, I already anticipated the uncertainty and vagueness of our dream of having a graduation ceremony at the Araneta Coliseum due to the threat of COVID-19. But to my surprise, the excitement is not yet over because we are here now to our one epic virtual graduation. We finally made it! A truly Fatimanian spirit is with us today as we cordially witness our official graduation ceremony. The significance of this ceremony does not only give us absolute recognition but also provide us the chance to express our heartfelt gratitude to one another. We all know that letting go is never easy but today, with my sincere heart, I would like to thank all my teachers, my friends, my classmates, and my fellow graduates for being a part in the fulfillment of my Senior High School journey. Mountains were never simple to climb but because of our perseverance, positive outlook and strong determination, we were able to rise to the top. We surpassed all the challenges TABASAN, MARK BLOOMARIE G. BE-ABM 12P-MGT1 even though how tight our time to CLASS VALEDICTORIAN accomplish them. Those joys and laughter we shared as well as stress moments while working on our research projects and other prerequisites which have made us metamorphosized into more equipped, more capable and more humane in preparation for our succeeding endeavors. We became family because we selflessly care one another. To my ABM family in particular, I owe much from you. Our efforts were paid off because we showed great pride not only to our Strand but also to the whole Senior High School family of Our Lady of Fatima University-Quezon City, for here I am now raising our flag. If we reminisce our very first meeting with our teachers, they pushed us to soar high as much as we can. And I did it! We all did it! Wow! It is amazing that we are exhilaratingly wagging our flag to our fellow Fatimanians around the nation. My fellow graduates, life’s success is essentially molded within one’s existence. Our triumph today was attained by assiduity, enthusiasm and steadfastness. But it does not come off and shape up without the help of our educators. In this way, I would like to acknowledge the huge contribution of our teachers. William Butler Yeats once said that “education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire.” To our teachers, I can say in total confidence that you have enlightened us in cultivating wisdom in order to serve for a better purpose. We TABASAN, MARK BLOOMARIE G. BE-ABM 12P-MGT1 vividly see the difference on how you CLASS VALEDICTORIAN deliberately encourage us to explore our potentials. Now, this is the right time to express my deepest gratitude to all of you. I would like to specially thank Ma’am Francheska Tiquia and Ma’am Demi Diane de Castro for being one of those distinctive educators who always meant to ignite wisdom on business and marketing. You are truly an advocate of prosperity. Your empathy and humor inspire me even more to navigate my radiant future. Sir Mario Dema-ala II, you are also one of my favorites because Accounting is where I am inclined to. Your proficiency intensifies my desire in the field of Accountancy. Sir Mark Barcel, I salute your style because you innovatively imparted boundless practical knowledge that will surely aid us in our future undertakings. Ma’am Lyssagel Sabile, being my class adviser, I bow my head to your thoughtfulness. You unselfishly gave us extra time and effort beyond your scope of duty. And to all educators I did not mention, we were so delighted to have you. Nevertheless, I’d like to thank my loving parents for your immeasurable and inexhaustible support. I offer you my achievement today as my gift and I will continuously bring joy to you. I make an oath today that you will be proud of me at all times. Throughout my entire existence, you will always be my superheroes. To all parents and guardians who are listening today, our success is your success too. We TABASAN, MARK BLOOMARIE G. BE-ABM 12P-MGT1 congratulate all of you for bringing us into CLASS VALEDICTORIAN finding our brighter future. Soon, your efforts will be paid off in God’s fullness of time. Finally, on behalf of my fellow Senior High School graduates, our dear Alma Mater, Our Lady of Fatima University, we thank you for every single moment we spent in your home. You are truly the home of achievers. You remarkably made our Senior High School journey into momentous, meaningful and memorable one. You are forever engraved in our hearts and we always guarantee to carry your virtue wherever we are. I am proud to be a Fatimanian. My dear fellow graduates, our shining future awaits us ahead as we are already on our halfway in chasing them. Let’s continue to inspire one another. We bid goodbye for the meantime but let us always cherish our good memories until we meet again. May God bless us and congratulations to us all! TABASAN, MARK BLOOMARIE G. • DOST-SEI Announces Qualifiers to the 2021 S&T Undergraduate
Republic of the Philippines Department of Science and Technology Science Education Institute Service. Excellence. Innovation. DOST - SEI announces qualifiers to the 2021 S&T Undergraduate Scholarships The long wait is over for the applicants to the 2021 DOST-SEI S&T Undergraduate Scholarships as the Department of Science and Technology - Science Education Institute (DOST-SEI) announces today the names of qualifiers to the said program. The DOST-SEI did not conduct the national scholarship qualifying examination in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Institute employed data analytics and proxy indicators in place of the exam to identify qualifiers. Documentary requirements were collected through the agency’s E-Scholarship Application System beginning June 2020. These documents, including the students’ grades in Grades 9-11, which were obtained and verified from their respective schools, were evaluated. “In the face of the new normal, we had to adopt a new selection scheme to determine the qualifiers for our scholarships. We wish to highlight that each application was meticulously validated, and the collection of grades took some time; thus, it took us several months before we could finally release the results,” said DOST-SEI Director, Dr. Josette T. Biyo. Of this year’s qualifiers, 3,815 qualified under the RA 7687 program—scholarships for gifted students who belong to economically disadvantaged families; while 4,252 qualified under the Merit program. They will receive notice of award sometime in September courtesy of DOST-SEI or the concerned DOST Regional Offices. In the list, 2,042 names were marked with one asterisk implying some lacking documents; while some names were withheld pending completion and evaluation of requirements.

UP Film Institute Filmography of Filipino Films 2003 Introduced by Lucenio Martin L. Lauzon Compiled by Virginia D. Cuyugan and Lucenio Martin L. Lauzon with assistance from Pol del Mundo of the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) Ana Fajardo of the Film Academy of the Philippines (FAP) Edwin Joaquin of the MOWELFUND Film Institute The Filipino film celebrates this year its 85th anniversary but its activities and achievements through the years still need to be documented and assessed fully and systematically. Today, the country is still wanting not only in the capability to preserve its film heritage but also in the determined and sustained efforts to collect and preserve existing data on Filipino film for posterity. It does not help that the conservation of Filipino heritage, taxing and tedious as it is already, is appreciated by only a few individuals even within the industry. As an institution dedicated to the study of films, the UP Film Institute (UPFI) shall try to help in the task of gathering, classifying and disseminating data on the Filipino film. As part of its commitment to the public, the UPFI shall make these data available to everyone through the publication of a systematic and comprehensive listing of Filipino films, beginning with those produced in 2003. This year is most apropos as it was also in 2003 that the UPFI was formally established by virtue of the UP Board of Regents resolution. The UPFI realizes that such filmographies are indispensable for anyone who wants to gain an overview of the film landscape in the country and to make necessary, informed and authoritative observations on the state of the Filipino film industry.
