Come to open auditions on Sunday 2 December at the New York Stadium, New York Way, ,S60 1FJ.

Get well prepared and arrive at the venue from 09:30 to register.

Final entry for registration will be 16:00. Last audition will be 17:00, and there is no guarantee that you’ll be seen, depending on the number of people who want to audition.

You will need to give your contact details and have your photo taken as part of your registration.

You can share that you’re coming to the auditions by adding yourself to our Facebook event.

If you have a disability and require any additional support on the day of the audition let us know when you arrive.

Auditions: Round One

You will appear in front of a panel of judges.

You’ll have up to 60 seconds to tell your story. Your story could be about you or something local that you care about, in fact anything, so long as it’s your own story.

Each judge will give a verbal "Yes" or "No". Three or more "Yesses" mean you're through to Round Two.

Auditions: Round Two

A shortlist will be drawn-up by the BBC Radio Sheffield management team. The team will review video and audio recorded in Round One of the people who got three or more "Yesses". They will choose the final candidates to invite to interview.

What happens next?

If successful you will be contacted by 18 December. You will then be asked to complete an application form and attend an interview early in 2019 which will include a radio test in the studio.

Working for the BBC

If you are successful in being selected for this opportunity you will be employed by the BBC on a 12-month fixed-term contract. On average you’ll be working 35-hours a week.

Terms and Conditions

. You will be responsible for meeting your own travel expenses to the auditions.

. There is free parking at the New York Stadium and good public transport links to the stadium. Click here for venue information.

. No food will be provided at the auditions. There will be tea and coffee provided. You might have to queue outside so check the weather and wear appropriate clothing.

. Successful auditionees will be contacted, and name publicised on BBC Radio, possibly TV and online.

. Unsuccessful auditionees will not be contacted.

. You may be filmed and audio recorded by the BBC, and your audition may be used by the BBC for broadcast and/or appear on BBC online websites as well as official BBC social media accounts.

. You will need to be 18 or over before 1 December 2018 and be eligible to work in the UK.

. This is your one and only chance to audition. No other dates are available and you need to have registered by 16:00. Last audition will be 17:00, and there is no guarantee that you’ll be seen, depending on the number of people who want to audition.

. There is no payment or expenses for the audition or second round interview.

. The BBC reserves the right to disqualify you if you have supplied untruthful, inaccurate or misleading personal details and/or information, have failed to abide by these terms and conditions.

. We may use the information you provide to verify your age and identity.

. We are not able to answer any questions by email or otherwise about the auditions as all the information you require is on this page.

. The BBC reserves the right to refuse anyone entry to the venue- the New York stadium.
