Solway Folk Session Song Book

This tune book contains songs which are most often sung and played by musicians attending sessions which are regularly held in the Cumbrian villages of the Solway Firth which follow the line of Hadrian’s Wall to the west of Carlisle through to Bowness on Solway. However, the scope of the sessions is not limited solely to these songs, other songs are performed less regularly and from time to time musicians will introduce new songs. In addition, tunes are performed at the sessions and those which are most commonly heard can be found in the separate Solway Folk Tune Book.

Many of the songs are traditional songs from the British Isles, both popular and less well known, whilst others are a mix of more modern songs or songs from further afield.

The contents of the tune book are organised in alphabetical order based on the title of the song.
