TORONTO, May 6, 2016 – Democracy has been hacked and privacy has been deleted. From Universal Cable Productions, the Golden Globe and Peabody Award-Winning series Mr. Robot returns to Showcase with its highly anticipated second season premiering day and date with USA Network on Wednesday, July 13 at 10 p.m. ET/PT. All 10 episodes from the new season will be available to watch online the next day at showcase.ca.

Mr. Robot follows Elliot Alderson (), a young cyber-security engineer who becomes involved in the underground hacker group fsociety, after being recruited by their mysterious leader (). Following the events of fsociety’s 5/9 hack on multi-national company Evil Corp, the second 10- episode season will explore the consequences of that attack as well as the illusion of control.

Mr. Robot stars Golden Globe Award and SAG® Award Nominee Malek (The Pacific), Golden Globe Award Winner Slater (Nymphomaniac), Portia Doubleday (Her), Carly Chaikin (), Martin Wallström (Simple Simon), Grace Gummer (Extant), Michael Cristofer (Ray Donovan), and Stephanie Corneliussen (Legends of Tomorrow). Series creator Sam Esmail (Comet) will direct all 10 episodes of the new season.

Grace Gummer will play Dominique “Dom” DiPierro, a young federal agent investigating the hack. New recurring guest stars include Craig Robinson (The Office) as Ray, a neighbourhood local who reaches out to Elliot in his time of need; rapper Joey Bada$$ as Leon, a new friend of Elliot’s who philosophizes on the meaning of life; and Chris Conroy (Members Only) as Derek, the young and attractive new man in Joanna Wellick’s (Stephanie Corneliussen) life.

Also joining as recurring guest stars are: Sandrine Holt (Fear The Walking Dead), Michael Maize (National Treasure: Book of Secrets), Dorothi Fox (Run All Night), and Luke Robertson (The Americans). Returning cast members include BD Wong (Law & Order: SVU), Gloria Reuben (Saints & Sinners), Michael Drayer (Vinyl), Michel Gill (House of Cards), Ron Cephas Jones (The Blacklist), Sunita Mani (5 Stages), Azhar Khan (Veep), and Ben Rappaport (The Good Wife).

The drama hails from writer and executive producer Esmail as well as Anonymous Content executive producers Steve Golin (True Detective) and Chad Hamilton (Breakup at a Wedding). Mr. Robot is produced by Universal Cable Productions.
