How to get to the Park Hotel Rica

From Airport Gardermoen

Shuttle bus: On Sunday 6 April 2014, there will be a shuttle bus from the airport to the Holmenkollen hotel. A staff member will be present in the arrivals area of the airport and guide you to the bus. Invited speakers and commentators have reserved seats, and all additional seats will be distributed on a first come-first served basis.

Departure times: 14:00, 16:00, 18:00, 20:00, 22:00 and 24:00.

Taxi: In addition, the taxi company Oslo Taxi offers flat rates to the Holmenkollen Park Hotel Rica. When queuing for the taxi, inform the driver that you will be staying at the Holmenkollen hotel and wish to benefit of the special rate (840 NOK before 17:00, 1100 NOK after 17:00).

Public transport: Take the Airport Express Train (http://flytoget.no/). It leaves from inside the Oslo Airport terminal building, 70 meters to the right after leaving the custom area in the arrival hall. The train departs every 10 or 20 minutes, depending on the time of day. In order to obtain a ticket, use the service booths or the grey and orange automats.

The charge is 170 Norwegian Kroner (NOK) at the ticket vending machine, 200 at the ticket desk. All major credit cards are accepted. Get off at Oslo Central station. From there, take the metro line 1 towards . Get off at Holmenkollen station. From there, walk up to the hotel (see map below).

From the city centre

Public transport: Take Metro line 1 towards Frognerseteren. Get off at Holmenkollen station. From there, walk up to the hotel. You can check timetables here: https://ruter.no/en/.

The conference will take place in the Saga Hall at Holmenkollen Park Hotel.

Interpretation English-French will be provided.

Wireless internet will be available in the Saga Hall.

The conference dinner

On 7 April, there will be a conference dinner for all those who signed up for dinner in the online registration form. Dinner guests will receive a coupon upon registration for the conference at the Holmenkollen hotel on 7 April.

Activities

Hotel guests have free access to the hotel’s swimming pool, sauna and fitness center.

On 6, 7 and 8 April, the Holmenkollen ski jump and ski museum offers reduced entrance fees for conference participants. Password: University of Oslo.

The ski jump is located at walking distance from the hotel. You have a great view over the city, the surrounding hills and the Oslo fjord. The ski museum recounts 4000 years of ski history.

After the conference, you may want to visit sights in Oslo, including the National Gallery, the Opera and the City Hall.

Check-out

Hotel guests need to check out before 12:00. You can keep your luggage in a luggage room at the hotel until your departure.

Conference participants who stay at the hotel need to pay their accommodation and conference fees at check-out. The prices to be paid to the hotel are the following:

After the conference

On 8 April, lunch will be provided for all conference participants from 13:00-14:30.

CDDH members: A bus will take all those who take part in the CDDH meeting in Oslo city centre on 8-10 April to the conference location, Håndverkeren conference center.

Other participants: It is possible to leave your luggage at the Holmenkollen Park Hotel Rica for the day, and take either a taxi or public transportation to the city centre or the airport.
