Moet & Chandon Dom Perignon 2003 (FRA) 450 The flagship wine of Moet and Chandon, Dom Perignon is a vintage only assemblage of the finest grapes in a single year. The 2003 vintage has been compared with great vintages such as 1947, 1956, and 1976; with the growing conditions being exceptionally difficult throughout the winter and spring, the remaining fruit was subject to intense heat during the summer months. Thomas Bachelder, “Minéralité” Chardonnay, Niagara VQA 59 Lifted, enticing orange-peel aromas, fresh mint and a faint mealy note too. Intriguingly edgy - almost a bit like a low-sulphur style, although there's nothing unfresh here. Loads of cereal and dried hay on the finish - lovely to taste such esoterica within Chardonnay.

Estate Chardonnay, Westcott Vineyards, VQA Vinemount Ridge 69 This flinty-tasting Chardonnay shows aromas of zesty lemon, fresh green apple and white flowers and on the palate the same citrus/tree fruit characteristics followed by a distinct mineral finish

Domaine de l’Amandine, 2016, Côtes-du-Rhône Blanc AOC 49

Zinck Portrait Pinot Blanc, A.O.C. Alsace 59 Portrait Pinot Blanc offers immense class and finesse at a truly competitive price level. It is a bright, floral, pure wine, with ripe peach flavours and a beautifully silky texture. Perfectly balanced, the finish is crisp and fresh. Supple, fruity and medium bodied.

Domaine De La Villaudière, A.O.C. Sancerre 79 This wine is expressive on the nose, combining floral fragrances with aromas of white peach and exotic fruit. Well balanced and honest on entry, the wine is underpinned by freshness and powerful, long-lasting acidity on the finish, revealing a lovely minerality. Sancerre in the upper is the benchmark for sauvignon blanc in Europe – crisp and fruity, with racy acidity.

Domaine Dampt, Chablis, A.O.C. Chablis 82 Pale lemon in colour. The nose shows soft jasmine notes and ripe fruit. The palate is elegant with a classic, flinty minerality, balanced by soft, creamy fruit. Situated in the far north of Burgundy, Chablis’ specialty is its renowned white wine, made from the Chardonnay grape. The lime-rich soil, full of small marine fossils, gives the wines of Chablis their unique mineral quality.

Ruffino, Lumina Pinot Grigio, Delle Venezie 41 The palate is soft and round with a long, clean citrus finish. Straw yellow in colour, with a fruity nose that has hints of hazelnuts. The wine is light to medium-bodied, fruity with well-balanced acidity.

Terre Gaie Pinot Grigio Poggio Bracco, Veneto 46 This is a light, dry and bright wine, refreshing, with fine delicate acacia flower, citrus and nutty aromas. The palate follows through with light citrus and hazelnut overtones. A perfect patio wine!

Appleby Lane, Sauvignon Blanc, Nelson, Australia 57 The nose is aromatic with citrus, lime, gooseberry and herbaceous characters. A mouth-filling palate showing delicious gooseberry, grapefruit and citrus fruit flavours with typical minerally edge. Rich and concentrated, the mid-palate remains clean, ripe and fresh.

Leaping Horse, Chardonnay, California 42 This light-bodied Chardonnay is refreshingly simple and easy to drink. Lovely tropical fruit aromas combined with apple and pear flavours, dry and crisp with the slightest hint of vanilla on the finish.

Kung Fu Girl, 2016, Riesling, Washington State 54 Clear, pale lemon; delicate aromas of lychee, white peach, floral blossom, lemon and mineral; off-dry, light to medium bodied; vibrant acidity and flavours of white stone fruit, apricots, apple and lime leaves.

Cloud Break, Zinfandel, Sonoma Valley, California, USA 50 Dark red colour; aromatic, full bodied and juicy; jammy fruit forward palate and a smooth velvet finish.

7 Peaks, Cabernet Sauvignon, California 51 Bright ruby colour. Sweet flavours of cherry, cassis and fresh mint are balanced nicely with just a touch of oak. The blackcurrant is persistent.

L de Lyeth, Cabernet Sauvignon, Sonoma County, California 65 This is a luscious wine with enticing aromas that are immediately evident upon opening the bottle. Crimson in colour, the wine spreads across the palate with layers of wild berry, black currant and a hint of toast.

Domaine De La Guichard, Massif D’uchaux, A.O.C. Cotes Du Rhone Villages 58 A complex and rich mix of aromas, including black cherry, crab apple, plum, cranberry and stewed strawberry fruit, with subtle licorice and mint, as well as a bit of alcoholic weight (14.5%).

Chateau Phélan Ségur, La Croix Bonis, A.O.C. Saint-Estèphe 118 Intimately related to Château Phélan Ségur, "La Croix Bonis" comes from selected plots, mainly planted with Cabernet Sauvignon, located on the best land in Saint Estèphe. The harvest is picked entirely by hand, and carried in small trays. After strict sorting, only the very best grapes are kept. Winemaking takes place at Château Phélan Ségur, using the best techniques. Nice deep ruby colour. Fruity and expressive nose. Well balanced wine with a good structure. Fine finish.

The full-bodied palate is rich, complex and rewarding with the flavours of blackberry, spice, eucalyptus and creamy mocha. Soft tannins support a lingering finish of toasty oak.

Mitchell, Peppertree Vineyard, Shiraz, Claire Valley, Australia 88 The palate of the Peppertree Shiraz show the spicy peppery characters of high class Shiraz. The wine is full flavoured and has a soft, almost velvety palate, which makes the wine very easy to drink.

Bodegas Bilbainas, Vina Pomal, Crianza, , Spain 56 Medium intensity of black fruits on the nose. Plum, blackcurrant with a hint of liquorice. These flavours come through onto the palate, along with the subtle oak influence. This brings with it a delicious vanilla character which marries perfectly with the black fruit flavours. This is a fruit driven Rioja, perfect for consumers whoenjoy a classic Rioja without an overly prominent oak influence.

Italy

Ruffino Chianti, D.O.C 46 Deep red in colour, clear and brilliant, with violet undertones. Intense cask aromas, aromas of the Tempranillo grape. A gentle palate with moderate ageing.

Il Poggione, D.O.C. Rosso Di Montalcino 78 91 points – Il Poggione’s Rosso di Montalcino bursts from the glass with intense, layered fruit. A big, voluptuous wine, the 2011 stands out for it’s generous, utterly inviting personality. Hints of spices and rose petals add complexity, but in the end in 2011 the Rosso is a wine mostly of juicy, textural impact.

Luigi Righetti, Capitel De Roari Amarone, D.O.C.G. Amarone Della Valpolicella 105 This is a well-balanced Amarone that still exhibits much of the dark fruit flavours, earth and meaty components expected of this DOC. Aromas of black cherry and prunes joined by beefy and earthy aromas.
