  • Welcome to the Provisional BUCS Leagues Document for 2019-20 (V8 Released 16/12/19)
Welcome to the provisional BUCS leagues document for 2019-20 (V8 released 16/12/19) This first worksheet is a guide to the shadings used throughout the document to denote promoted/relegated/reshuffled/new/withdrawn teams. Please note that in most cases, leagues of 6 teams or less will meet each opposition twice (home and away), whilst leagues of 7 - 10 teams will meet each opposition once (home or away). Exceptions to this include the Premier Tier of Men’s Rugby Union, and in all sports (except Cricket) where a Tier 1 league has 7 teams, in which case in all of these leagues teams will be scheduled to meet each opposition twice (home and away).” You may notice that a few key sports are missing (American Football, Equestrian & Indoor Cricket). This is because the format of these leagues are currently being reviewed or still being finalised. Therefore we will be releasing these provisional leagues at a later date. Thank you for your patience with this. Please direct all feedback and queries to your regional competition representative in the first instance. They will be collating and organising the feedback before sending it back to BUCS. Please discuss possible contradictions/actions with all parties involved before submitting the feedback back to your regional rep. All feedback will be discussed in the BUCS Office and although we will try to accommodate where possible/appropriate, please note that changes are not guaranteed. Please note that changes relating to late results or incorrect score adjustments from the 2018-19 season will NOT be accommodated, as all BUCS leagues have now been locked as final.

Vol. 9 MARCH, 1951 No. 6 England Salutes MAGNIFICENT! 3 World Cham.pions UNDAY, March 11th, was a truly red-letter day for English S Table Tennis when, for the first time in the history of Inter * national Table Tennis, English-born players won two World titles. Johnny Leach Johnny LeaCh dis:posed of the briJUant young Frenchman~ Roothoft, in .the quarter-finals after a hard-fought g'ame, and followed this with a semi-final victory over Tereba, membe,r of the victorious ,Czechoslova!kian Swaythling Cup teant, to meet Ivan Andreadis_ in the final of the Men's Diane Rowe Singles. Andreadis had been playitlg in brilliant fonn throughout the * championships, and in the Swaythling Cup Final had won his three games to give Czechoslovakia their 5-4 victory over Hungary. Rosalind Rowe Johnny played a clever and often brilliant ganle in slowing down ibis mercurial opponent, and after he had contrived to win a close third game in 19 minutes the ultimate result was seldom in doubt. In the CorbiUon Cup the Rowe twins had been the mainstay of the England sid:e, and although they failed in the singles against Austria, t:hey won aU their doubles matches in convincing style. However, it was in the Women's Doubles Cham pionship that they really came into their own, and at their first atteIupt won the coveted cup a remarkable feat when one realises that they are still only seventeen years of age'.
