Frequencies marked with * are not in operation 24 hrs a day . Frequencies in parentheses are those to tune y our radio to (set on y our dial), using USB (upper single side band) setting. Standard transmissions use 120 LPM (Lines Per Minute), though some stations with Russian equipment use 60 and 90 LPM.

Worldwide Marine Radiof acsimile Broadcast Schedules prov ided by NOAA are here. Detailed broadcast schedule of the Boston station can be f ound here. Weather f ax transmission schedule of the German Weather Serv ice is here. Schedule of re-broadcast of GOES weather images on HF is here. For some hints on how to get started with HF-FAX reception, click here.

Below (lef t hand) is a weather f ax that I receiv ed f rom the Northwood, UK station on 11084.6 kHz USB on 6-august-06. I used MixW sof tware to receiv e it. MixW is a great multimode package, but unf ortunately is does not store or capture complete f ax images. So y ou hav e to do a screen capture sev eral times per f ull image (e.g., v ia CTL-ALT-PrintScreen), and then piece together the partial images in some graphics tool. Below (lef t to right) are weather f axes that I receiv ed f rom Northwood/UK (8038.1 kHz USB on 16-july -08), Of f enbach/Germany (13880.6 kHz USB on 17-July -08), and Halif ax/Canada (13507.9 kHz, USB on 19-July -08). I used the demo v ersion of JVComm32 to receiv e them. JVComm32 is also multimode ("only " FAX, RTTY, SYNOP, NAVTEX, SSTV), but it does sav e entire f ax images. The f ull-f eature demo v ersion is f ree, but prints the word "demo" in the receiv ed image (not a problem). A complete image transmission takes ov er 10 minutes!

click here or here. I of ten use a Russian time station at 15 MHz (tuned to 14996 kHz USB) to calibrate my Hellschreiber, SSTV, and other ham digi-mode sof tware. Click here f or a write-up by GØHWC on how to do this. Depending on propagation conditions, I sometimes use a 10 MHz time station (tuned to 9996 kHz CWU).
