AUC Press holds its Tahrir Book Fair from 2-5 June

23 May 2016, , − The American University in Cairo Press is hosting its summer Tahrir Book Fair on the AUC Tahrir Square Campus from Thursday, 2 June to Sunday, 5 June, featuring an extensive selection of AUC Press and non-AUC Press titles as well as significant book bargains.

The fair will offer three novels for the price of two and textbooks starting from LE10. Visitors will also find big discounts on children’s books and up to 90% off on academic titles. In addition, customers who spend LE150 will receive a free book.

The annual Tahrir Book Fair has become a regular venue for inviting AUC Press’s loyal readers and introducing new visitors to its publishing program and downtown bookstore. “We hope this book fair will be particularly vibrant now that the wall on Sheikh Rihan Street has been taken down,” explains Trevor Naylor, AUC Press associate director for sales and marketing. “The enhanced access to the campus should encourage more people to come browse our books and enjoy the gardens,” he added, referring also to the recent relocation of , the capital’s former landmark Tahrir government building, as well as the nearby Ministry of Interior.

“As well as the many bargains and offers available we also wish to showcase for customers, old and new, the many new books we have added to both the AUC Press range and to the bookstore itself this past few months,” added Naylor. “We believe we have more to offer the general, family and school audience than any other store in Cairo at this time.”

Finally the AUC Press will also be promoting Hoopoe, its new literary imprint, that showcases great new fiction in English, from the Arab world.

The Book Fair will be open daily from 10:00am to 5:00pm, except on Friday, from 1:00 to 5:00pm. The four-day fair is open to the general public. Admission will be free of charge, with a valid photo ID. The fair will be accessible both from the campus gate on Mohamed Mahmoud Street and from the entrance to the AUC Tahrir Bookstore on the corner of Sheikh Rihan.

Currently the AUC Press publishes 60 new books annually and offers more than 1,000 titles in print, making it the region’s leading English-language publisher.
