My role as Partner Investigator will be to support the design of the project, the analysis of the research findings and the development of research-informed theatre script based on the research findings.

The play, which tells a story of a mother and three daughters who are negotiating the challenges and politics of transnational adoption in a same-sex family, is based on data gathered from written personal narratives by and interviews with members of adoptive, same-sex families.

The RISE (Respectful, Inclusive, Safe, and Equitable) Summit was a two-day summit in which 15-20 experts in the field convened for dialogue on key questions in the field of 2SLGBTQ-inclusive teacher education.The Summit is part of larger project designed to develop a curriculum framework for queering teacher education in Canadian universities. Within the study, the RISE team is taking up questions of how teachers are prepared to support the wellbeing of sexual and gender minority students, paying particular attention to themes of Indigenous/Two Spirit persons, trans* persons and gender diversity, religious/cultural contexts, and resistance.
