2015 ANNUAL PERFORMANCE REPORT The year that was 2015 saw another year of continuous commitment of NTC Region V to be of service to the Bicol Region with competence and dedication. Although beset with several challenges, 2015 was also full of overcoming the same as NTC Bicol was able to achieve remarkable outputs. To start with, even though it was short of reaching the target income for 2015, still the income yielded for 2015 is impressive in the amount of PhP 90,282,446.39. While there was a decrease in the target set for total income, the same however is true and is being felt across all regional offices in the country as this was primarily due to the upgrading and/or system configuration of telecommunication companies. These telcos opted and now use fiber-optics/cables instead of using the radio frequency terrain/airwaves, the service delivery platform for telecommunication facilities. Notably, the use of said spectrum is being assessed of the annual Spectrum User’s Fee (SUF) where the bulk of the income is sourced. With the availment of the use of fiber optics by the telcos instead of radio frequency, telcos no longer need to pay for the SUF, hence the considerable decrease in the target income for all regional offices. Also, it is with great pride to state for the record that NTC Bicol led the way in the inspection and validation of CMTS signal & broadband connectivity of all Public High Schools, Public Elementary Schools, Barangays and Municipalities in the region.
