SUNDAY WINTER RACING — Getting Started By Terry Johnson

Invitation: SYSCO extends a cordial invitation to its members, non‐members, and their guests to participate in this fun winter casual racing series.

Description: A casual winter racing series that runs every Sunday from the middle of October 2010 through February 2011 with days off for the holidays and in‐climate weather. There will be approximately 8 ‐ 16 races in the series. The race format for the series is casual. The marks used for the race series are the permanent river navigation marks (14‐18‐2) with the race course being set based on wind conditions for the day. There will be a Race Committee boat to start each race. The Race Committee boat also par- ticipates in the series. There are no trophies or points awarded for the series. If you are new to river racing, then this is the series where you can learn to master your sails and your racing skills.

Eligibility: The SYSCO Sailing on Sunday Regatta is open to SYSCO members, non‐SYSCO mem- bers, and their guests. Races shall be governed be the current ISAF Racing Rules of Sailing.

Dates and Times: Every Sunday from the middle of October 2010 through February 2011. The gathering point for the start of each race is buoy 14 near the Rose City Yacht Club (RCYC). (Continued on page 5)
