She has been a Coached 25 All-SLC honorees at SFA member of the Olympic Development Program for Region III for the past nine years and served as the head coach of the US soccer region III ‘97 Age Group from July 2010-May 2013. Nelson took the team to events in Costa Rica and on a European Tour in March of 2013, where the team played games in Germany and Switzerland. Nelson spent two years as an assistant at Texas (2006-07) under Petrucelli, where she served as the recruiting coordinator. She helped coach a Longhorn team that won back-to-back postseason Big 12 Championships in 2006 and 2007, and advanced to the NCAA Round of 16 both years. In 2005, Nelson served as the recruiting coordinator and an assistant coach at Baylor. Prior to her stint at Baylor, Nelson served as the head coach of the Stephen F. Austin women’s soc- cer team (2002-2004), leading the team to two Southland Conference Championships. In her second year at the helm, Nelson’s Ladyjacks won the conference tournament and made the program’s first NCAA Tournament appearance in 2003. In 2004, SFA won the regular season Southland Champion- ship and Nelson was named the conference coach of the year for the second consecutive season. She led 25 student-athletes to All-SLC honors over three seasons and left the Ladyjacks with the most wins in program history. Nelson served as an assistant at SFA during the 2001 season. Before she started her career in coaching, Nelson played semi-professional soccer for the Austin Lonestars (W-League). Following that stint, she worked with numerous clubs and camps before taking her first position in the collegiate ranks as a volunteer assistant at her alma mater in 2000-01. As a player, Nelson started every game and was the team captain in 1995, 1996 and 1997 at Okla- homa City University under Brian Harvey. Nelson was a three-time All-Sooner Athletic Conference member and Academic All-American. She began her collegiate career at Texas A&M University as a freshman and concluded it at OCU as an All-American (honorable mention). Nelson earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a bachelor of arts degree in Spanish in 1997 at Oklahoma City University, graduating with Magna Cum Laude honors. She received her master’s degree in kinesiology from Stephen F. Austin in May 2005.

Maine, 2002 (Sociology) In his third season as an assistant coach (2016), Cosgriff helped lead the Premier Development League Vermont Voltage, 2000-01 Mustangs to a 13-7-2 overall record en route to the first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2006. After finishing third overall in the regular-season (19 pts, 6-2-1), SMU Collegiate Career Maine, 1999-2002 finished as runner-ups at the American Athletic Conference Tournament. Working primarily with the Starting Goalkeeper goalies, Cosgriff helped lead SMU to a 1.016 goals against average (GAA) (93rd NCAA, 4th AAC) Team captain and a .705 save percentage. Starting goalkeeper Catie Brown recorded four shutouts (T6th AAC), Coaching Experience while boasting a 1.042 GAA (4th AAC, 109th NCAA) and a .697 save percentage. Following the AAC Championship, four members were named to the AAC 2011 SEC Regular-Season Champions All-Tournament Team. 2009 NCAA Sweet 16 (South Carolina) 2009 SEC Tournament Title In 2014, his first season on the Hilltop, Cosgriff helped guide a young Mustang team to seven wins. Due to injuries to both starting goalkeepers, he was tasked with the challenge of transitioning a field player, Lissi Lonsberry, to goalkeeper. Cosgriff overcame this challenge, as Lonsberry posted a 5-3 record, including two shutouts, in the eight games she started in net. Cosgriff also saw senior goalkeeper Lauryn Bodden post a career-high 11 saves in a game versus USF.

Cosgriff was an assistant coach and goalkeeper coach at Washington State from 2012-14. During his tenure, he helped the development of one Pac-12 Player of the Year and six Pac-12 all-confer- ence selections. In 2013, Washington State was seventh nationally in both goals allowed and goals against average and sixth in the nation in shutouts. The Cougars advanced to the NCAA Tourna- ment in both 2012 and 2013. His athletes excelled both on and off the pitch, as 21 Cougars earned Pac-12 all-academic honors and the teams averaged a 3.23 GPA.

Cosgriff was an assistant at South Carolina from 2003-11, where he worked with goalkeepers and assisted in all aspects of the program. He mentored the careers of three of the top seven goalkeep- ers for goals against average in Southeastern Conference history.

For three-straight seasons (2009-11), South Carolina had the SEC’s top defensive unit and Cos- griff’s goalkeepers own the top-five goals against averages in Gamecocks’ history. South Carolina participated in the NCAA Championship each of the last-five seasons Cosgriff was on staff. The Gamecocks won the 2009 SEC Tournament title and advanced to the sweet 16, and the 2011 squad won the SEC regular season crown.

Prior to South Carolina, Cosgriff was an assistant coach for the men’s soccer team at Maine, his alma mater, from 2002-03. He graduated (2002) with a Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology.

A native of Lebanon, N.H., Cosgriff played for the Vermont Voltage of the Premier Development League from 2000-01. He also played at Maine for four years, starting at goalkeeper and serving as team captain.

LISA COLE - FIRST TEAM - 1990

Lisa Cole was a First Team All-America selection in 1990 and was also on the Freshman Team in 1987. Cole is SMU’s all- time leader in points (230), goals (94) and assists (42). Cole also holds SMU’s highest single-season scoring mark, tallying 37 goals (1.76 per game) on 184 shots in 1987. The 37 goals were an NCAA record from 1987-2005, and her 87 points that season still rank third all-time in NCAA history. Cole’s 4.14 points per game in 1987 rank second in NCAA history, and her career mark of 3.15 points per game rank fourth. Cole was also an all-region honoree three times (1988-90). SMU won a total of 63 games during her four seasons on the Hilltop, and made its first NCAA Tournament appearance in 1990.

KARA LEE - FIRST TEAM - 1993

Kara Lee is SMU’s fifth all-time leading goal scorer with 51 goals in her three seasons on the Hilltop. Lee totaled 37 points (15 goals, seven assists) in 1993 to earn First Team All-America status. Lee was named to the all-region team all three years from 1991-93, leading SMU in goals and points all three years. Lee also led the Mustangs in assists in 1991 and 1993. Lee is one of five different Mustangs to average over one goal per game over the course of a single season, a feat that she accomplished in 1991. SMU won 38 games over Lee’s three seasons with the program, advancing to the NCAA Tournament in 1992 and 1993.

DANIELLE GARRETT - FIRST TEAM - 1995

In two seasons at SMU, Danielle Garrett amassed 52 goals and 128 points, which both rank fourth in program history. Garrett led the NCAA in scoring in 1995, leading SMU all the way to the College Cup and an undefeated regular season. Garrett tallied 32 goals and 83 points that year, marking the second-highest totals in Mustangs history. The 83 points are also the fourth most in Division I history. Garrett is also one of two Mustangs to have ever averaged at least one goal per game over two entire seasons. The Southwest Conference Player of the Year in 1995 partnered with Courtney Linex to form the nation’s top goal-scoring tandem in 1995.

COURTNEY LINEX - THIRD TEAM - 1995

Courtney Linex helped lead an SMU attack that led the nation in scoring and advanced to the College Cup in 1995. Linex posted the third-most prolific season in SMU history that year, recording 77 points (31 goals, 15 assists). Her season in- cluded a 10-game stretch with at least one goal, the seventh longest streak in NCAA history. Her point total is eight highest in Division I history, and her 31 goals rank 13th all-time. Over her four seasons at SMU, Linex totaled 162 points, ranking second in program history. Linex’s 64 career goals rank third at SMU.

MARCI MILLER - THIRD TEAM - 1997

Marci Miller started all 23 games for the Mustangs in 1997, helping lead SMU to the WAC regular season and tournament titles. Miller scored 11 goals on 47 shots and totaled 27 points. For her career, Miller posted 51 points (19th at SMU) and 1.16 points per game (16th). Between 1996 and 1997, Miller recorded nine game-winners, leading the team during that span. Miller was also named All-WAC First Team in both 1996 and 1997, and earned WAC Mountain Division Player of the Year both seasons. The two-time all-region honoree played 44 total games at SMU.

ASHLEY GUNTER - SECOND TEAM - 2006

Ashley Gunter led SMU to a regular season Conference USA championship and an NCAA Tournament appearance in 2006, recording 10 solo shutouts (third all-time at SMU), including one in the first round of the NCAA postseason over McNeese State. She was named C-USA Defensive Player of the Year after allowing just six total goals during conference games. Gunter was on the Hermann Trophy watch list in 2007 and finished her career with 38 wins (38-20-5), good for third all-time at SMU. Gunter is also third in shutouts in program history with 23 solo shutouts.
