ICOM EXECUTIVE BOARD NOMINATION-SUZANNE BRAVERY

Suzanne Bravery has longstanding experience in curating and managing the conservation and interpretation of cultural heritage at all levels of government and in not for profit and private organisations. This includes over twenty years in supervisory curatorial positions at the Historic Houses Trust of (since April 2013 Sydney Living Museums), responsible for Elizabeth Farm, , , Meroogal and Rouse Hill House and Farm. As General Manager with Museums and Galleries NSW Suzanne led a small team responsible for programs and services for museums and galleries state wide. As Manager of the Grainger Museum at the University of Melbourne, she engaged diverse audiences in the exhibitions and public programs of the Museum. Suzanne is formerly Head, Australian Society and History since 1788 at the National Museum of Australia and is currently principal at making museums matter, museums and project management. She has served on the National Committee of Australia ICOMOS, state and national boards of Museums Galleries Australia and is currently on the ICOM Australia Executive Board.

1986 to 2008 Curator, Supervising Curator and Curator/Manager, of Elizabeth Bay House, Elizabeth Farm, Meroogal, Rouse Hill House and Farm and Vaucluse House, Historic Houses Trust of NSW (from April 2013 Sydney Living Museums) I was responsible as senior staff member on site for the conservation and interpretation of each of these properties. This included public programs, publications, essays in exhibition catalogues and conference papers on conservation housekeeping, historic houses, Grainger Museum, migration, cultural heritage and material culture, museum sustainability. I authored Operations Reviews, Manuals and Policies on Housekeeping and Registration and Conservation and Management Plans.
