Coles has funded over $500,000 in grants to participate and compete. I have to say I was quite humbled our local Centres which I am sure you all would agree has been by the way the Centres all just stepped up and made it work beneficial. despite the COVID-19 restrictions and protocols, once again you have all displayed a great level of dedication to the sport, and I I would also like to thank Glen Taylor, a board member that thank you for that. The big announcement came on Friday with Rhydian being added to the men's 20km team, along with Jared Tallent who will now do the double, and Tanya and Regan being added to the women's 20km team. The full Australian walks team now reads as follows 20km Men Dane Bird-Smith (QLD), Jared Tallent (SA), Rhydian Cowley (VIC) 20km Women Rachel Tallent (VIC), Regan Lamble (VIC), Tanya Holliday (SA) 50km Jared Tallent (SA), Chris Erickson (VIC), Brendon Reading (ACT) Dane, Rhydian, Rachel, Tanya and Brendon will make their Olympic debuts, Regan will be going to her second Olympics and Chris and Jared will front for their third Olympics. But today it's timely to zoom in on Rhydian, Tanya and Regan. • 24 year old Regan was outstanding on Olympic debut four years ago, placing 16 th in London with a huge PB of 1:30:03. But her world then fell apart with the ridiculous decision to terminate the AIS scholarship program. -

ACT ATHLETICS RECORDS st as at 1 September 2020 Application for Record In the event of a record being equalled or broken, it is the responsibility of the athlete to apply to the AACT Records Officer for such a record claim. Application for a record must be lodged with the Association within six months of the date of the performance. Such applications must be on the prescribed form and be supported by such additional documentation that may be required to validate the application. The application will lapse if any additional documentation requested is not received within six months of the date of the performance considered, or with seven days of the request if the six month period has lapsed. Record Types ACT All Comers record may be set by any registered athlete worldwide whilst competing in the ACT. ACT Resident records can be set by any ACT registered athlete whilst competing at any accredited meet worldwide. With just 100 days to go until Tokyo 2020 begins, and athletes from all corners of the globe prepare to reunite in Tokyo to prove the human spirit cannot be defeated, the Seven Network has assembled a world-class Olympic and Paralympic commentary team that will lead the country’s biggest-ever broadcast and digital event. For the first time in Australian free-to-air television history, there will be 45 dedicated Olympic channels across Seven and 7plus all live, free and in HD. Australia’s most loved and respected sports broadcaster Bruce McAvaney returns for his 11th Olympic Games coverage, with Seven’s team featuring some of Australia’s greatest ever Olympians, who between them have racked up numerous Olympic and World Championship gold medals and 22 World Titles plus hundreds of Games both as competitors and broadcasters. On Wednesday, Seven announced its coverage would be anchored by Hamish McLachlan, Abbey Gelmi, Johanna Griggs, Luke Darcy, Matt Shirvington, Edwina Bartholomew, Lisa Sthalekar and Andy Maher. Leading Seven’s contingent on the ground in Tokyo, Mel McLaughlin, Mark Beretta, Jason Richardson and Nathan Templeton will make sure audiences are kept up to date with all the latest news, colour and atmosphere of the Games.
