Fernandez opened his routine to “The Barber of Seville” with a quadruple toeloop followed by a triple Salchow-triple toeloop combination and a triple Axel and three other triple jumps, however, he crashed on the quad Salchow and doubled the Lutz. The two-time World bronze medalist collected a level four for three spins and a level three for the footwork to score 173.25 points. He racked up 262.49 points overall. “This medal is more important than a regular European medal because it's three times in a row. Maybe I didn't do my best performance ever but it's a little bit more special than other medals as since 1989 nobody has won three European medals in a row”, the ISU Grand Prix Final silver medalist commented. Performing to “Exogenesis Symphony” by Muse, Kovtun struggled at the beginning with his quad Salchow, quad toe and triple Axel, but recovered to hit five triples and three level-four spins. The Russian Champion picked up 157.47 points and totaled 235.68 points to pull up from fourth to second.

  • Chicago's Brown Still Riding High After Junior Grand Prix Final
6/29/2018 icenetwork.com: News: News NEWS The Final Word: Chicago's Brown still riding high Hao Zhang reinjures shoulder; Takahashi questions transitions score By Lynn Rutherford, special to icenetwork.com (12/15/2011) With Jason Brown, what you see is what you get. And what you see is one happy kid. "I am almost always happy," the 17yearold Chicagoan said on Dec. 15. "I absolutely love the skating process. I love the journey. Some days are lower than others, but it's all just great, to be honest. "I love when people come up to me and tell me they like my skating. I remember watching nationals and Olympics as a kid, and when skaters came off the ice, people wanted their autographs. Just to be one of those skaters now is unbelievable." JGP Final champ Jason Brown is confident he will get the triple Axel consistent. (Getty Images) The morning after he won the Junior Grand Prix Final in Quebec City, Brown hadn't yet come down from his high.
