Publicado por: Raiko Martín El béisbol venezolano dio este martes un nuevo paso rumbo a su participación en el III Clásico Mundial, al develar los nombres de quienes acompañarán al manager Luis Sojo en el puesto de mando del equipo vinotinto. Así, quedó definido que Luis Dorante será el coach de banca, Carlos García el de la primera base y Omar Malavé de la tercera. A cargo de perfilar el bateo estará el destacado ex grandes ligas Andrés Galarraga, en tanto Wilson Álvarez ejercerá como coach de pitcheo y Marco Davalillo será el encargado de los lanzadores en el bullpen. «Así como existen un gran número de peloteros venezolanos desarrollándose, lo mismo ocurre con los técnicos, y por ellos somos capaces de armar un cuerpo técnico de calidad», afirmó a la prensa local Carlos Miguel Oropeza, gerente general del comité organizador de esa nación, antes de confirmar los esperados nombres. A su vez, el manager Luis Sojo aseguró que siente una gran admiración por quienes compartirán con él en el Clásico. «El trabajo se nos hará fácil siempre y cuando exista comunicación. Que yo sea quien lleve el mando no significa que no me pueden dar un consejo», aseguró Sojo. En la conferencia de prensa no trascendieron adelantos sobre los nombres de los peloteros que integrarán la nómina de Venezuela, ya se entregó a la Asociación de Peloteros en las Grandes Ligas una lista de 60 jugadores. «Eso no quiere decir que no puedan haber otros candidatos, ni que quedarán por fuera quienes no jueguen en las Grandes Ligas», añadió Oropeza. Lo cierto es que Sojo y su cuerpo técnico afrontarán un gran dolor de cabeza a la hora de armar el equipo, teniendo en cuenta la gran cantidad de jugadores de primer nivel con que cuentan. Los principales problemas para decidir estarán alrededor de la segunda almohadilla. Entre los jugadores que se desempeñan como campo corto en la principal liga estadounidense se encuentran Alcides Escobar, Elvis Andrus y Asdrúbal Cabrera, mientras que tendría que elegir como camarero titular entre Marco Scutaro, José Altuve y Omar Infante. Más claras tendrán las cosas en las esquinas del cuadro, pues Miguel Cabrera y Pablo Sandoval no parecen tener grandes oposiciones para jugar en tercera y primera base, respectivamente. Muchos managers quisieran vivir en la incertidumbre de Sojo.
