It works to promote and improve the town and countryside for public benefit, and for the economic and social well- being of people living and working in Morpeth and surrounding areas of Northumberland through the promotion of urban and rural regeneration. Arts & Culture Community Environment Heritage What is GMDT? The interest groups are made up of volunteers who help to develop and deliver regeneration projects and support other groups operating within the area. There are a number of projects that the interest groups work together on, like the Morpeth-wide GMDT is a community led organisation established out of the Local Strategic Partnership to facilitate the development and signage and interpretation project and the events portfolio. delivery of community based projects through partnership working. The most recent support is through the redevelopment of Cresswell Pele tower and the children’s De Merley project.     GMDT Annual Report April 2019 - March 2020 A successful development trust Greater Morpeth Development Trust (GMDT) Objectives and aims of GMDT Greater Morpeth Development Trust (GMDT) has been in existence since 2006 and the diverse range of projects carried out over the past fourteen years could not have happened without the support of our partners, funders and members. GMDT has continued its objective of developing partnership networks through facilitation to develop initiatives and through the skills base in the team adding value where ever possible to make Morpeth a quality place to live. GMDT has developed a portfolio of projects to deliver these aims and objectives and the major capital schemes which have benefitted the town include the redevelopment of Morpeth Town Hall and Morpeth Railway Station which generate development revenue and a sustainable income to support the activities of GMDT. This has been achieved through the support of a number of funding bodies who have invested in the vision to redevelop key public assets within Morpeth – the main funders being Heritage Lottery Fund, Network Rail, Northern Trains Limited, Northumberland County Council, Railway Heritage Trust and North East Rural Growth Network. The existing staff team is made up of 1 full time and 2 part time members supported by a range of professional associates to deliver a portfolio of quality projects and through engaging volunteers’ support and strong partnership working we work to maintain our level of service delivery for the benefit of Morpeth.     Northern Premier League 2020/21 By John Aitken Northern Premier League 2020/21 The National League System have come into effect over the last 40 years but it started with the formation of the Alliance Premier League in 1978/79 season the Northern Premier League, Isthmian Football League and the Southern Football League where the top divisions in the Non-League. The Alliance League later became todays National League and lowered down one level and these became a feeder to the above league. The Northern Premier League was formed in 1968 from teams from the Cheshire County League, Lancashire Combination League, Midland Football League, North Regional League and West Midlands (Regional) League and today it takes promoted teams from Northern League, North East Counties, North West Counties League, Midland Football League and United Counties Football League which are its five feeder leagues to this day. Eleven of the originals either went on to be or were football League members. These leagues were dropped one more level down when North and South Divisions of the Conference were formed in 2004 and the League System started placing leagues to feed these leagues with some other minor leagues feeding two or more off them. From the 2018/19 season the North and South Divisions were changed to Division One East and West with some clubs moving to the new Southern Football League Central & West Premier and Southern Football league Division One North & Central Division from the NPL to save on traveling costs and eight clubs promoted from Step 5 to the Northern Premier Division One Leagues.

    All Town and Parish Council Clerks Your ref: Via Email Our ref: Enquiries to: Budget Consultation Email: [email protected] Tel direct: (0345) 600 6400 Date: 23 November 2018 Dear Clerk Consultation on Car Parking Charges at Selected Coastal and Railway Car Parks I refer to the email from Cllr Glen Sanderson, Cabinet Member for Environment & Local Services dated 7th November 2018, in which he informed you of the Council's latest investment plans for improvements to parking that will result in hundreds of new parking spaces being created across Northumberland as the council continues its £10 million pound programme of traffic improvements. In his email Cllr Sanderson also highlighted that in order to help fund these raft of improvements and address other budget pressures the Cabinet were considering proposals to reintroduce charges at a number of the busier tourism and railway station car parks at their meeting on Tuesday 13th November 2018. I can now confirm that Cabinet gave their approval to undertake consultation on the introduction of charges at the most heavily used tourist/visitor and railway car parks. Details of the car parks affected by the proposals and the proposed tariffs at these car parks are listed in Tables 1 to 3 appended to this letter. A full copy of the Cabinet report that sets out the wider investment plans and details of the charges can be found on the NCC website at http://committee.northumberland.gov.uk/Meeting.aspx?MeetID=9119 It is considered that the introduction of charges at these busy car parks will help manage demand, make the maintenance and management of parking services more financially sustainable and generate income that will assist in financing future investment in parking services, whilst at the same time help safeguard key front-line services that ensure the county remains an attractive place to live, work in or visit.
