It works to promote and improve the town and countryside for public benefit, and for the economic and social well- being of people living and working in Morpeth and surrounding areas of Northumberland through the promotion of urban and rural regeneration. Arts & Culture Community Environment Heritage What is GMDT? The interest groups are made up of volunteers who help to develop and deliver regeneration projects and support other groups operating within the area. There are a number of projects that the interest groups work together on, like the Morpeth-wide GMDT is a community led organisation established out of the Local Strategic Partnership to facilitate the development and signage and interpretation project and the events portfolio. delivery of community based projects through partnership working. The most recent support is through the redevelopment of Cresswell Pele tower and the children’s De Merley project.
