Enock Epaku was married to five women, traditionally recognized and others came in as gifts from other counties, so they became ten in total. He had fourteen children; seven sons and seven daughters all living in Aloet Village, Arapai Sub-county, soroti County, Soroti District, Uganda; where he died and was buried in 1935.

Dr. Pius Okong M.B.Ch.B., Dip Obs, M.Med (MU), PhD (KI)

is Lordship Justice (Emeritus) Steven George Engwau Joined the school in 1957- 1960 where he did his Cambridge School certificate. He was in Middle House. HSome of his contemporaries are Ephraim Okalebo, Stephen Besweri Akabway and Col. (Rtd) William Omaria L’ Arapai. Judge Engwau is a Barrister at Law of the Middle Temple Inn in the United Kingdom. He served as High Court between 1978-1979, then 1990-1997 when he was promoted to the Court of Appeal /Constitutional Court as a Justice of Appeal a position he held until his retirement in 2011. He is now a Consultant/Arbitrator with a Kampala law firm M/s Engoru, Mutebi Advocates.

Dr. Okong was in Teso College Aloet 1973/74 for A level, House Captain for Kenyatta, joined Makerere University 1975 and graduated as Medical Doctor 1980. Masters degree 1983/86 and carried out Pioneer research on human papilloma virus in Uganda showing its association with cancer of the cervix, and subsequent research linking to vaccine development for this, commonest cancer in women. Doctoral studies on maternal health and awarded a PhD in Karolinska Institutet, Sweden (2004). An Obstetrician and Gynaecologist; worked in Mulago NRH and Nsambya Hospital; retired civil servant after serving for 32 years. Served as President of the Association of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Uganda; and in different capacities internationally with FIGO, WHO, PMNCH and distinguished recognition by Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation Nov, 2010. Associate Professor (STM, UCU 2008) and Honorary Professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (UMU 2011). Chairperson Health Service Commission (March 2012-March 2016).

Henry G. R. Kerali BSc (Eng.), MSc, PhD, MIHT, FICE, CEng.

Henry Kerali joined Teso College Aloet in 1970 after completing primary school in Council School. He was elected Head Prefect in 1974 and completed Senior 6 in 1975 gaining AAB principles in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry (a rare fit in the 1960s/70s). He studied Civil Engineering at Makerere University, graduating in 1980 with an Upper Second honours degree, was immediately appointed Teaching Assistant and was subsequently awarded a Commonwealth Scholarship in 1981. He went to study at the University of Birmingham (UK), obtained a Master’s degree in 1982, and a PhD in 1986. He was appointed a Research Fellow and then Lecturer at the University of Birmingham, where he later became a full Professor in 2000. While in the UK, he also became a Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers (FICE) and a Chartered Engineer (CEng.) Professor Kerali joined the World Bank in 2003 as a Senior Transport Engineer and was appointed Sector Manager for Transport in 2009. He was then promoted to Regional Director for the South Caucasus in 2012. From July 2015, Henry Kerali took up the position of World Bank Regional Director for West Africa, based in Accra, Ghana. Robert K.Muhiirwa, Bishop of Fort Portal ear readers DI am proud to be an O.B of Teso College Aloet. The two years 1976 and 1971 I was there for my HSC were very formative towards my Priesthood. I hold dear in my heart all teachers at that time and in a special way, I remember our Chaplain late Fr. Richard Griffin, who gave me a good example and spiritual guidance to go back to the Seminary and eventually be ordained Priest in 1985 and now even to be made Bishop of Fort Portal in 2013. Dr. Okware Sam MB ChB, MPH, DPH, PGDM, PhD

Dr Sam Okware is medical doctor with a PhD in infectious diseases. He is the Director General of the Uganda National Health Research Organisation. He has worked in several senior positions. As Commissioner for public health and disease control, he pioneered the AIDS control Programme in Uganda which registered drastic declines in prevalence. He has also led the control of Ebola and emerging infections.

Dr Okware has received several distinguished awards in recognition of his contribution to public health and publications. His recent publication was on Ebola, was launched by H.E President Museveni in May 2015. He was an OB of Teso College in the 60’s; lived in Middle House; was a class captain and a table tennis champion.
