Vocal-Diva Storm Large Performs a Night of Romantic Classics with the Jacksonville Symphony

Jacksonville, FL (February 21, 2018) --- Known from her time as a finalist on the CBS show Rock Star: Supernova, the songstress Storm Large will join the Jacksonville Symphony for a night of romantic favorites including “My Funny Valentine” and “Hopelessly Devoted to You.”

WHO: As a musician, actor, playwright and author, Storm Large has played many artistic roles. Before rising to national prominence in 2006 with her appearance on Rock Star: Supernova, Large spent the 90s singing in clubs throughout San Francisco. In 2002 she started a standing engagement at a Portland club, “Dante’s.”

She made her debut with the band Pink Martini in 2011 singing four sold-out concerts with the National Symphony Orchestra at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC. Although she continues to perform with Pink Martini off the orchestral stage, her symphonic performances haven’t stopped. Recent highlights include performances with the New York Pops, Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra and the Louisville Orchestra. Recently, Large joined Michael Feinstein as a special guest on the Jazz at Lincoln Center Popular Song series with Liza Minnelli, Joel Grey and Pasadena Pops.

WHAT: For two nights of romance, Storm Large performs love songs new and old on the Jacoby Symphony Hall stage. Classic jazz standard “My Funny Valentine” can be found on over 1,300 , including one by American singer, Frank Sinatra. The crooner’s “I’ve Got You Under My Skin” will also make an appearance with Queen’s “Somebody to Love.” Storm Large will perform romantic standards and more in Crazy Arc of Love.

WHEN: The concerts will take place on Friday, March 2 at 11 a.m. and 8 p.m. as well as Saturday, March 3 at 8 p.m. The concert on Friday, March 2 at 11 a.m. is a part of the Raymond James Coffee Series and will feature abbreviated selections. Complimentary coffee and cookies will be served before the coffee concert.

WHERE: All concerts will take place in the Jacoby Symphony Hall in the Times-Union Center for the Performing Arts.
