PROGRAM HISTORY First Season 1974-75 Alabama at the NCAA Championships: This will be Alabama’s 14th national championships SEC Championships 3 (2010, 13, 16) appearance and the 13th under head coach Mic Potter. The Crimson Tide has played in the NCAA NCAA Regional Championships 4 (2011, 13, 17, 18) championships in all 13 seasons of Potter’s tenure and captured the school’s fi rst national title in 2012 NCAA Appearances 14 in Franklin, Tenn. 2017-18 Alabama women’s golf notes Stephenson, Gillman and Knight Each Earn Medalist Honors in 2017-18 Alabama golfers earned individual medalist honors four times in 2017-18, equaling the previous season high set in 2010-11 when Stephanie Meadow (3 victories) and Brooke Pancake (1) combined to take home medalist honors in four tournaments.

Junior Lauren Stephenson posted a school record 54-hole score to share individual medalist honors at the season-opening Mason Rudolph Championship in Franklin, Tenn., Sept. 15-17. Stephenson (68-68-64/200) birdied her last fi ve holes in the third round to cap off an 8-under par 64 round and tie with Arkansas’ Maria Fassi for fi rst place at 16-under par. Stephenson’s fi nal score and score vs. par were school records.

A week later, sophomore Kristen Gillman fi red a personal-best 7-under par 64 in the fi nal round to claim individual medalist honors and lead the Alabama women’s golf team to the team championship at the Schooner Fall Classic, Sept. 23-25, in Norman, Okla. Gillman’s win coupled with Stephenson’s victory at the Mason Rudolph Championship, marked the fi rst time since the 2008-09 season that two different Tide golfers claimed medalist honors in consecutive tournaments. Gillman (68-68-64/200) fi nished at a career-low 13-under par for the tournament to capture individual medalist honors for the second time in her career. The Austin, Texas, native equaled Stephenson’s week-old school record for low 54-hole score.

Stephenson and junior Cheyenne Knight shared individual medalist honors at the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic, April 13-14, in Athens, Ga. The tie marks the fi rst time in Alabama women’s golf history that two Tide golfers have shared medalist honors at a tournament. Knight (-7, 65-71-73/209) and Stephenson (-7, 71-69-69/209) join Kathleen Ekey (2009) and Jennifer Kriby (2012) as third and fourth Crimson Tide golfers to win the Liz Murphey.
