he Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) is delighted to have the ITA Men’s All- TAmerican Championships hosted for a ninth straight year by the University of Tulsa 2 at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center. For their long-standing support of this event, we would like to thank Vice-President and Director of Athletics Dr. Derrick Gragg, the Golden Hurricane athletics department, and especially Director of Tennis and Men’s Coach Vince Westbrook, who will be serving as the tournament director.

The ITA Men’s All-American Championships has served as a springboard to profes- sional success for several collegiate stars. Past Tulsa participants have had a great showing at the 2013 US Open: (Georgia) reached the third round, Bob and (Stanford) reached the men’s doubles semifinals, and (Virginia) reached the doubles quarterfinals with partner (Virginia).

As the governing body of collegiate tennis, the ITA oversees 10 National Championships. Four of those events are sponsored by the United States Tennis Association (USTA), as are all 85 USTA/ITA Regional Championships. In addition, the ITA administers the ITA College Tennis Rankings at the NCAA Divisions I, II and III, NAIA and Junior College levels. The ITA also has a comprehensive awards program for players and coaches to honor on-and-off court achievements.

When you are not on site at the University of Tulsa this week, be sure to follow live scores from the event at www.ITAtennis.com and receive real-time updates on the ITA’s Facebook and Twitter pages.

Best wishes to the participants and coaches on the start to another great season.

Always,

David A Benjamin

After graduating from Loyola Marymount University with a 22-11 overall record, Crawford became the first multi-impaired athlete to be certified by the United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA). The Loyola Marymount University varsity tennis program received a $1,000 donation from the ITA in Roger Crawford’s honor.

ITA AWARDS LUNCHEON Each August, two of the most talented groups of collegiate tennis players are honored at the ITA Awards Luncheon hosted by the USTA during Arthur Ashe Kids’ Day: the ITA Collegiate All-Star Team and the ITA/Arthur Ashe Jr. Leadership and Sportsmanship Award Winners.

The ITA Collegiate All-Star Team is composed of the nation’s top-ranked men’s and women’s players from the year-end ITA College Tennis Rankings, as well as winners of the ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships and NCAA Division I Championships.
