A34 TRUNK ROAD WINNALL INTERCHANGE (M3 JUNCTION 9) – WENDLEBURY INTERCHANGE (M40 JUNCTION 9 TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS Notice is hereby given that Company Limited has made an order on the A34 Trunk Road in the Counties of and Oxfordshire, and the Unitary Authority of West Berkshire, under section14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 because works are proposed to be executed on the road. The effect of the Order is to authorise– (a) the phased overnight closure of- (i) both carriageways of the A34 from Kingsworthy Junction (A33) to Chieveley Interchange (M4 Junction 13); (ii) both carriageways of the A34 from Milton Interchange (A4130) and the Wendlebury Interchange (M40 Junction 9) roundabout; (iii) the slip/link roads leading to and from the lengths of carriageway described in (a)(i) and (ii) above; and (iv) the side roads at junction with the lengths of carriageway described in (a)(i) and (ii) above; (b) the phased 24-hour closure of the lay-bys adjacent to the carriageways described in (a)(i) and (ii) above. These measures are in the interests of road safety while contractors undertake essential carriageway and bridge maintenance works, and all associated works. It is expected that the work will last for approximately 8 weeks starting on or after Sunday 5th February 2017. The overnight closures of the roads described in (a)(i), (ii) and (iv) above will take place between 21:00 and 06:00 and in (a)(iii) above between 20:00 and 06:00 (maximum periods). The Order will come into force on 3 February 2017 and have a maximum duration of eighteen months. During the closures described in (a)(i), (iii) and (iv) above, traffic affected will be diverted via other junctions of the A34, and by using the A303, A33, A30, A272, A343, A3093, A339, A4, A338, B4009, B4640, Priors Court Road and the M4. During the closures described in (a)(ii), (iii) and (iv) above, traffic affected will be diverted via other junctions of the A34 and by using the A4130, A417, A338, A420, A337, A44, A40, A418, A4095, A4260, Bicester Road, B4027, B430, B4044 and the M40. The diversion route will vary depending on the closure in place and will be clearly signed. The temporary mandatory carriageway, slip/link road and lay-by closures will be clearly indicated by traffic signs when they are in operation during the works period. The effect of the Order is to authorise the overnight closure of the eastbound carriageway of the M27 at Junction 4 and the phased overnight closures of the slip/link roads leading to and from the M27 Motorway between Junction 2 and 11. These measures are in the interests of road safety while contractors undertake essential carriageway works, bridge works and all associated works. It is expected that the work will last for approximately 3 weeks starting on or after Monday 6th February 2017. The overnight closures will take place between 21:00 and 06:00 (maximum period). The Order will come into force on 4 February 2017 and have a maximum duration of eighteen months.
