Australian Capital Territory Race and Sports Bookmaking (Sports Bookmaking Events) Determination 2015 (No 1) Disallowable Instrument DI2015—37 made under the Race and Sports Bookmaking Act 2001, s20(1) - Determination of sports bookmaking events 1. Name of Instrument This Instrument is the Race and Sports Bookmaking (Sports Bookmaking Events) Determination 2015 (No 1). 2. Revocation I revoke determination DI2009-266 dated 21 December 2009 and notified under the Legislation Register on 23 December 2009. 3. Commencement This Instrument commences the day after it is notified. 4. Determination I determine that the approved senior level sports bookmaking events are as specified in Schedule 1 to this instrument. I determine that the approved sports bookmaking events relating to national and international racing are as specified in Schedule 2 to this instrument. For the purpose of events determined under Schedule 1 of this determination a “senior level event” includes all professional, top level competitions and Masters type events but does not include junior, school or any competitions where a condition of participation requires competitors to be less than 18 years of age. Player awards and medals as sanctioned by the above Leagues and Associations. 2 Athletics (Track and Field) Each event scheduled and sanctioned by: (i) International Association of Athletics Federations; (ii) Oceania Athletic Association; and (iii) Athletics Australia. 3 Australian of the Year Award Awards titled: (i) Australian of the Year; (ii) Senior Australian of the Year; (iii) Junior Australian of the Year; and (iv) Australia's Local Hero. Player awards and medals as sanctioned by the Australian Football League Commission. 5 Backgammon Events scheduled and sanctioned by the World Backgammon Association (WBA). 6 Badminton 1. Events scheduled and sanctioned by the Badminton World Federation (BWF). 2. Sanctioned tournaments, events and regional conferences of: (i) Badminton Asia Confederation; (ii) Badminton Confederation of Africa; (iii) Badminton Pan Am; (iv) Badminton Europe; (v) Badminton Oceania. Each event scheduled and sanctioned by: (i) Australian National Basketball League; (ii) Australian Women’s National Basketball League; (iii) Fédération Internationale de Basketball (FIBA); (iv) United States National Basketball Association; (v) United States Women’s Basketball Association; (vi) United States National Collegiate Athletic Association; (vii) FIBA Europe; and (viii) Union of European Leagues of Basketball. 2. Each National and International event scheduled and sanctioned by Basketball Australia. Each event scheduled and sanctioned by: (i) International Boxing Organisation; (ii) World Boxing Organisation; (iii) International Boxing Federation; (iv) World Boxing Council; (v) World Boxing Association; and (vi) International Boxing Association. 2. Each International and Championship event scheduled and sanctioned by Boxing Australia Inc. 3. Each exhibition event conducted and sanctioned by any of the above boxing organisations. 10 Chess Events scheduled and sanctioned by the Federation Internationale des Echecs (FIDE). 11 Commonwealth Games 1. Each Commonwealth Games sporting event as scheduled and sanctioned by the Commonwealth Games Federation. 2. Official Commonwealth Games Federation medal tallies.
