WHEN YOU ARE READY TO RUN YOU COME AND WE WILL CHECK YOUR DOG AND PUT YOU ON THE ORDER OF GO LIST. WE WILL TRY OUR BEST TO WORK AROUND OTHER ACTIVITIES YOU MAY BE ENTERED IN THIS WEEKEND. PLEASE NOTE- SOMETIMES THE ORDER OF GO IS AN HOUR WAIT TIME!!

Entering You will need a Separate entry form for each event. If you are entering a morning and afternoon event, you need TWO entries. Enter your dogs AKC number (PAL/ILP or Canine Partner number). If you do not have a number, please visit the AKC web site at : https://www.akc.org/caninepartners/enroll.cfm for a canine partners number (for mixed-breeds), or https://www.akc.org/pdfs/ilpform.pdf for a PAL/ILP number (for purebred dogs). Pre-entry: mail the completed forms (one for each test) and a check made payable to SSRRC to the field trial secretary by the pre-entry closing date: You will be expected to have complete info on your dog for each entry form. Incomplete entries and those submitted by email will not be accepted. Regular entries will not be acknowledged by mail or email. REFUNDS: Refunds will only be given if contacted prior to the closing of the pre-entry date. Any refunds requested between the date of the closing of pre-entries and the date of the trial are subject to the decision of the club/contractor holding the events and made on a one on one basis. Day of entries and pre-entries that are lame, in season or unfit to run as determined by the field committee will be refunded as long as the dog in question is there to be examined. Refunds will be in the form of a check and mailed after the event. We run rain or shine and only stop for thunder and lightning.

General Information

Dogs must be one year of age or older on day of test. Bitches in season, lame dogs and dogs judged unfit to compete will be excused with entry refunded. Spayed or neutered dogs may be entered. Run order for CABTs and FAST CATs will be at the discretion of the field committee, typically on a “ready and waiting” basis. The field committee reserves the right to alter the course plan as required by weather and/or field conditions. The field Committee reserves the right to prohibit known aggressive dogs and handlers from the event site. There will be a five dollar fine assessed for any loose dog not taking part in the course in process. NO ONE will be allowed on the field without the permission of the field trial chair except for the field committee. Anyone exhibiting unsportsmanlike behavior will be excused from the field and may be subject to further disciplinary action. Dogs must be on leash at all times except when running. Dogs may run the course with a flat collar only. No Martingale collars, choke chains, prong collars or harnesses. Please pick up all dog feces and deposit in appropriate receptacle. A PORT A JOHN is NOT an acceptable receptacle. Gas powered continuous loop machine will be used. The lure will consist of plastic strips. Start and finish light curtain gates will be used for the FCATs. YOU MUST have 2 people for the FAST CAT – a Catcher and a Releaser. The Field Crew and Club members will not release or catch your dog. COME PREPARED.

Practice

Practice/Fun Runs will be held when no test participants are waiting. $5 Per practice.

Neither SSRRC, GCSHC nor the Florida Gulf Coast Classic clubs will be held responsible for injuries occurring during this event. The sport of holds inherent risks to both people and dogs and you do so at your own risk. All dogs MUST be contained when not running and must be ON LEASH at all times when not running. Any one violating these rules will be asked to leave the premises. IF a dog is not contained and causes havoc on the field or off, you can be fined, a bench/field committee can be called, and/or asked to leave.
