Who Is Christian Rosycross? the Classical Rosicrucian Writings
Lectorium Rosicrucianum Det Gyldne Rosenkreuz' Internationale Skole Who is Christian Rosycross? Christian Rosycross is one of the most mysterious characters in European intellectual history. What mystery lies behind the name? “Who is Christian Rosycross?” If you ask these questions today, then the questions “Has this man actually lived?” and “Who are the Rosicrucians?” inevitably follow. The answer to these questions requires an inner search for truth – not the ordinary truth of historical facts – but the timeless truth about the nature and purpose of human existence. Rosicrucians in the Lectorium Rosicrucianum see in Christian Rosyross a spiritual prototype, their “Father-brother” and founder of the spiritual Order while at the same time the name of the force field from which they benefit. In the classical Rosicrucian writings of the 17th century this force field is called the “House Sancti Spiritus“. These sources of western spiritual history contain references that can touch a truth-seeker deeply and perhaps help him open a door to intuitive knowledge. This is the subject of the following article. The classical Rosicrucian writings Anyone who discovers the three original writings of the classical Rosicrucians finds himself faced with an abundance of mysterious symbols and images. These manuscripts were published in the years 1614-1616 by the German theologian Johann Valentin Andreae from Calw, who was a member of the so-called „Tubingen Circle“, a fellowship of spiritually inspired men. The manuscripts tell us about Christian Rosycross and the Rosicrucian Brotherhood. The three titles are: 1. Fama Fraterniatits R.C. (The Call of the Rosicrucian Brotherhood, 1614) 2. -
Goodbye, Preston"
"GOODBYE, PRESTON" by Mark Hopper & Johnny Smith Based on a true story Mark Hopper 1035 N Sweetzer Ave West Hollywood, CA 90069 415-729-6108 [email protected] WGAw Copyright (c) 2010 This screenplay may not be used or reproduced without the express written permission of the author FADE IN: West Hollywood, California, the early 90's. Dusk. Palm trees and weakening sunshine. A pink sky. Camera pans and rests on a building, THE GOLD COAST, a dive gay bar, situated right on Santa Monica Blvd. Camera begins to zoom into doorway. "Smells Like Teen Spirit" by Nirvana starts to play. CUT TO: INT. THE GOLD COAST - NIGHT A typical gay bar scene. Darkened room, loud music, a moderate amount of flashing lights. Loud laughter and the occasional crack of the pool balls can be heard over the din. Various shots of the action: men playing pool, men at the bar drinking, guys along the wall chatting and/or looking standoff-ish. One final pan and the camera rests on RICHIE HAMILTON, a lanky, long-haired white male in his mid 20's. He’s standing along the wall, observing the crowd. It’s his usual tradition. Maybe spot a familiar face, maybe meet someone new, who knows. Richie tilts back his glass of bourbon for the last sip, drinks, then heads to the bar for another cocktail. Just as he crosses the doorway, he almost bumps into PRESTON, who’s entering the establishment. Preston, also in his mid 20's, is dark-haired, slightly rugged and drop dead gorgeous. -

AURA: TIDSSKRIFT FOR AKADEMISKE STUDIER AV NYRELIGIØSITET Vol. 11, No. 1 (2020), 52–80 doi: https://doi.org/10.31265/aura.358 MYSTIK OCH POLEMIK: HUR BEGREPPET GNOSIS FÖRSTÅS OCH ANVÄNDS AV LECTORIUM ROSICRUCIANUM Niklas Nenzén Doktorand i systematisk teologi Teologiska institutionen, Uppsala universitet [email protected] ABSTRACT In recent studies of Western esotericism, the essentialist status and “religionist” de sign of the concept of gnosis has been disputed. Current aspects of the concept to discuss are gnosis as modern construction, as reflective surface of a secular world view, and as an element in revisionary historiographies. This article explores the dynamic of tradition and renewal of the concept of gnosis, employing as a case study the Lectorium Rosicrucianum, an international Rosicrucian New Religious Movement that so far has received little academic attention. My methodological procedure is a Weberian analysis of the LR:s application of the concept of gnosis in legitimation strategies and in blending charismatic appeal with claims of tra ditional authority. I argue that while a construct of LR as ideological “Gnostic dualists” can be derived from their polemical discourse, their outlook of “dynamic dualism”, drawing on alchemy and German mysticism, retains gnosis as both an ineffable, mythopoetically circumscribed experience and as social and corporeal phenomena. Torrey says, “I like the tactile quality of the art and the energy transmitted from the heart and hand, through gouges and knives to wood, and then with ink to paper.” ’ The Chrysalis Reader is a journal of spiritual discovery published in honor of Emanuel Swedenborg. An eighteenth-century scientist, civil engineer, and mystic, Swedenborg used his scientific orientation to explore the world of spirit. THE EGYPTIAN ARCH-GNOSIS THE EGYPTIAN ARCH-GNOSIS AND ITS CALL IN THE ETERNAL PRESENT NEWLY PROCLAIMED AND EXPLAINED FROM THE TABULA SMARAGDINA AND CORPUS HERMETICUM OF HERMES TRISMEGISTUS BY J. The Gate of Saturn Saturn is the ruler of matter and the cause of all processes of crystallisation. As such he is the power of obstruction, deterioration and decline. It is also Saturn’s task to reveal everything the human being has created. That is why he is sometimes depicted as the man with the sickle and the hour-glass, as the hierophant of death. For he brings all the values of dialectical and satanic man, all the results of selfishness and the rampant lover life into the light of day, at a psychological moment. Saturn is Father Time, Chronos, who orders: Thus far and no further’. But Saturn is also the one who initiates. Those who walk the path of life-renewal to live again in harmony with the great, universal law of life, will meet Saturn as the one who reveals everything that has become new: the imperishable values secured within the soul. Saturn, the envoy of death in transient nature then becomes the herald of the resurrected, immortal man. -

Creative workers like actors, producers, and writers come to L.A. to pursue dreams of stardom, especially in the Hollywood film and television media industries. For most, a “big break” into their chosen field remains perpetually out of reach despite their constant efforts. Expensive workshops like acting classes, networking events, and chance encounters are seen as keys to Hollywood success. Within this world, rumors swirl of big breaks for devotees in the city’s spiritual and religious organizations. For others, it is in consultations with local spiritual advisors like professional psychics that they navigate everyday decisions of how to achieve success in Hollywood.
