Below are Mr. Funderburg's answers to my follow up email. It's hard to read, Ma'am, so summarizing here for you:

He does not know the make/model of the modern chart plotters. One was already on the vessel when he purchased it and the other he purchased himself. That was the newest one, which was a Garmin purchased from Englund Marine under the BESS CHET account. Although they may have had the capability to interface with other equipment, they did not. And they did not have ARPA.

I think we may be able to dig a little and see if Englund Marine has the specs for the one that was purchased there.

AIS Plotter AIS Target List Channel and Position

NMEA 2000® and NMEA 0183 Connectivity With the plug-and-play functionality of NMEA 2000, the M506 can easily connect to a NMEA 2000 network and interconnect with other equipment. Also the NMEA 0183 input/output can be used for external GPS/NAV interface.

Section Station Option The optional COMMANDMIC, HM-195B/SW provides second station capability for using the M506 from a separate cabin or tower. Most functions including DSC and AIS functions can be controlled from the COMMANDMIC and can be used as an intercom between the radio and the COMMANDMIC.
