Orediggers, t is an honor to welcome you to the Colorado School of Mines’ Engineering Days 2019! The Mines Activities ICouncil and nearly 100 courageous committee members are very excited to take you on a journey unlike any other to celebrate the 85th year of E-Days! The E-Days team has worked tirelessly to make our classic events better than ever before, and we cannot wait for you to join us throughout our Adventure in the SerengetE-Days! As many of you know, Mines is an academically rigorous university where students endure constant stress and face new challenges every day. Yet, it is my hope that during this special weekend, you will take the time to join your peers and celebrate our amazing Oredigger community and take part in all of our unique (and sometimes wild) campus traditions. We promise you a weekend you are not soon to forget full of food, friends, and fun across every grassy plain. I hope you’re ready to travel around the globe with us on the safari of a lifetime! This adventure is only possible due to the amazing committee members pouring themselves into E-Days from start to finish. If you see someone sporting an Expedition Guide shirt, please be sure to thank them, because they are truly who bring E-Days to life. In addition, I would like to thank our event sponsors – Canvas Credit Union, HomeAdvisor, U.S. Engineering, BP, Whiting Petroleum Corporation, Newmont, Xcel Energy, RSM, ExxonMobil, Kiewit, and QSC – for their generous contributions, which allow this event to continue to grow and improve. Behind every group of expedition guides is a group of exceptional expedition leaders. This adventure would surely not be possible without the help of Allison Bateman, Andrew Hellman, Claire Bailey, Clay Wollert, Dan Topham, Ian Randall, Jaxon McNeil, Lauren Wilson, Madison Heeg, Maia Warner, Meagan Lundgren, and Michael Maxwell. These committee heads have worked day in and day out to make sure this event is the best Mines has ever seen, and it has been an honor to be their teammate. Last, but certainly not least, I would like to thank the office of SAIL and our valiant professional staff leaders, Kelsi Streich, Begoña Ruiz, Alexis Lakers, Alexandra Demopoulos, and Deanna Torrez, for guiding us every step of the way and supporting us endlessly. Words cannot fully describe my gratitude for each of you and all you do for myself, my teammates, and our community. It takes a strong team to put E-Days on and I could not be more grateful for everyone who has helped make this event possible over the past six months. But now, E-Days is finally here and we can’t wait for you to hop on the road with us through the Serengeti and see what we have in store for you! Hold onto your hats, it’s going to be a bumpy ride!
