Congratulations to the members of the high school band for the wonderful performance at the Christmas Concert yesterday. Both the high school concert band and jazz band sounded great. Middle School

The 7th grade boys basketball team started the year out with a win over Minster 34-25 and the 8th grade lost 45-39 Our 7th and 8th grade bands had a beautiful performance yesterday in their concert. Congratulations to Mr. Green and all the students for a stunning performance. The auditorium was full and I could tell that the audience thoroughly enjoyed it. Good luck to our girls’ basketball teams as they travel to Russia tonight for games starting at 5:00. Our canned food drive continues this week. Giving the gift of food to support our local pantry is a considerate gesture during the holidays. In addition, you can help your homeroom win the pizza or subway . So load-up on goods. The collection will end on Dec. 17th.

Attention Students: The Student Council Pencil sales have started. It will be held each morning until 8:15. We have lots of fun, new pencils, mechanical erasers, and notebooks for sale. Pencils are $.25, and erasers and notebooks are $.75. Come on down in the morning and check them out! We thank you for your support!! The Student Council would like to remind you over the Holidays to save your pop tabs. There will be a pop tab contest in January. So start collecting but keep them at home until January. Our 6th grade band will be performing their first concert this evening at 6:30 in the Milliette. I look forward to another great performance by Mr. Greene this evening! Congratulations to the Anna Book Club which was recently selected as a participant in YALSA Teens' Top Ten Galley Group. The book club will receive new books before they are published, review them for the publishers, and help select the top books of the year. Only 10 libraries across the nation were selected to participate in this program. Reminder there is a chess club meeting tonight afterschool in Mr. Kellersmith’s room. The MS Choir will be traveling to Dorothy Love today for a holiday performance. All choir students will need to be ready to leave at 11:15 and return around 1:00. They also will be eating lunch with the 6th grade lunch.

The Shelby County Sheriff's Department is forming an Explorer Post for students who are at least 15 years old and have an interest in a career of law enforcement. There is an informational meeting scheduled for Saturday, December 20, at 12:00 noon at the Sheriff's Office. Additional information is posted outside of the office on the bulletin board.

The Ann FFA had 2 teams participate in the District Parliamentary Procedure contest last night. The novice team finished first and will be going to the state contest on December 20. Team members include: Logan Cathcart, Stephanie Esser, Emma Freytag, Ethan Burd, Zach White, Abbey Gaydosh, Alex Rose, and Carly Becker. The Varsity team also finished 1st and will also be going to the state contest team members include: Nathan Watercutter, Elizabeth Landis, Mackenzie Wells, Zach White, Taylor Schmidt, Aaron Brautigam, Bonnie Altstaetter, and Brianna Fanaff. The two teams are officially in the top 20 in the state and we wish them luck at the state competition.

Attention seniors- if you have not ordered your senior graduation supplies including your cap and gown from Jostens, the deadline to order is Friday 12/19. Please place your order by mail, online or at our office to avoid paying more for your cap and gown.

The food drive continues today and will end on Weds., Dec. 17th so load-up this weekend on canned goods, boxed items, dry goods, and personal care items. These items will not only help families in need this holiday , but also help your homeroom compete for the Subway lunch or . Both boys basketball teams were immensely victorious over the Fairlawn Jets last night. The 7th grade boys had a score of 47-6 and 8th grade ended with a score 63-19.They will host Covington tomorrow for games starting at 10:00. Anyone interested in a career in law enforcement should attend an informational meeting on Dec. 20th at 12:00 at the Shelby County Sheriff’s Dept. Interested youth and parents are encouraged to come and have questions answered. Detentions will be held in Mrs. Stutsman’s room today from 3:15-4:15.
