    The Football Program One of the school’s most successful athletic programs, the Ithaca football team also ranks among the top programs in the nation. The many highlights of Bomber football include the following: • Three NCAA Division III football championships, a total surpassed only by Augustana and Mount Union. • Seven appearances in the Division III national championship game, the Amos Alonzo Stagg Bowl. • Totals of 41 playoff games and 27 wins (both among the Division III leaders). • The fifth-best winning percentage in Division III (.667). • Eight Lambert/Meadowlands Cups, presented to the top small-college program in the East each season; and nine Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) team of the year trophies. team reached the NCAA playoffs for the 15th time and the 2007 and 2008 teams reached the NCAA postseason as well. • ECAC championships in 1984, 1996, 1998, and 2004. Married for 35 years and the father of 5, Buzzy landed in New York by way of a 10 year professional hockey career. Buzzy worked in the New York Rangers and Calgary Flames organizations as a Pro Scout. Deschamps also played for Baltimore & Providence in the AHL, the Champion St Paul Rangers in the CPHL under legendary coach Fred Shero, and Los Angeles & Chicago Cougars in the WHA. Buzzy was also the Long Island Ducks all time goal scoring leading with 59 goals, varsity coach for St John University, and 13 years Director of the Islander Youth Hockey Program.

    Oxnard Gang Member Arrested For Assault Rifle 1/5/2017 9:46:00 PM Nature of Incident: Assault Rifle / High Capacity Magazine Arrest Report Number: 17-1581 (Ventura County Sheriff's Office) 17-1116 (Oxnard Police Department) Location: 300 block of Gibralter Street, City of Oxnard Date & Time: January 4, 2017 7:00 PM Unit(s) Responsible: Ventura County Sheriff's Office, Oxnard Police Department (S)uspects, (V)ictims, (P)arty, (D)ecedent City of Residence Age Juan Davalos Oxnard 18 Narrative: On January 4, 2017, Investigators received information about a criminal street gang associate possessing an assault rifle in the City of Oxnard. The investigation led to the seizure of a loaded assault rifle, a high capacity magazine and the arrest of Juan Davalos. On January 4, 2017 Investigators with the Ventura County Sheriff's Office Special Crimes Unit and the Oxnard Police Department learned Juan Davalos, who is an Oxnard criminal street gang associate, was in possession of an assault rifle. Investigators began an investigation and obtained a search warrant to search Davalos' residence in the 300 block of Gibralter Street in the City of Oxnard. The Oxnard Police Department Special Enforcement Unit along with the Violent Crimes Unit executed the search warrant at the residence. A search of the residence revealed an assault rifle with a loaded high capacity magazine. Davalos was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Ventura County Jail for a warrant on an unrelated case. UNI BASEBALL CELEBRATES 100 YEARS OF WINNING Dating back to 1893, no University of Northern Iowa athletic team has won more games than the Panther baseball program. This season, UNI baseball opens its lOOth season with 952 wins all-time. (No baseball team was fielded in 1903-04, 1909-10 and 1943-45.) Originally begun when the school was known as Iowa State Normal School, the baseball team has represented the school when it was also known as Iowa State Teachers College and the State College of Iowa before assuming its present title in 1967. Starting in the years with Captain Avery as coach of the first two squads, the Panthers have built a program that thrives on hard­ working young men dedicated to being the best they can be on the diamond and in the classroom.
