It sounds amazing. Reply Notify me Helpful. This thing sounds absolutely perfect. I would change nothing about it. Already loved it on CD, but I absolutely adore it on vinyl. The highs aren't harsh at all, nice mids that aren't muddy at all, and the low end is very present, but not overblown. You hear every instrument. It's just such a kickass record and a pleasure to listen to. If you're on the fence, get off it and get this as soon as you can. This is one of those albums that was made for vinyl. Musically strong and productional superior. More detail and depth than the CD. The only downside is having to change to 45rpm and then having to flip it sooner than usual I can live with that for better sound :. I agree with everyone's comments. I know it was recorded old-school and it translates on Vinyl. This album sounds like the best of old and new technology. Honestly, it is albums like this that have convinced me to change the way I do my own recordings. It is so clear that this is a superior Foo Fighters: Wasting Light. This was recorded on Analog Tape, so it obviously sounds beautiful on vinyl. This is the most underrated Foo's album imo. It's really a great album from beginning to end, and one of their best efforts. GoByMike March 27, Report. That's not a knock, they've just honed their craft very well and the magic was right on this one. Everyone should buy this because it rocks and sounds great and is dirt cheap. Furthermore, the single has been named as the number one Active Rock Song of the Year in Canada, and earned the title of number one Heritage Rock Artist of 2011 from Billboard. As I was leaving campus from a physics exam, I got into my 10-year-old BMW and found a sweet surprise from my wife; she had apparently driven around campus, located my parked car, and left this present for me on the front seat. She had ordered the new Foo Fighters record for me that I had talked about for weeks. It was a pre order from the band and even had a little bit of the tape they had used to record the album. From my point of view, there is no other citation, which more properly expresses the emotional impact of music to human beings. People come and go, but music remains forever, since acoustic waves are not bound to matter like monuments, paintings, or sculptures. In contrast, music as sound in general is transmitted by matter vibrations and can be reproduced independent of space and time. In this way, music is able to connect humans from the earliest high cultures to people of our present societies all over the world. Music is indeed a universal language and likely not restricted to our planetary society. The importance of music to the human society is also underlined by the Voyager mission: Both Voyager spacecrafts, which were launched at August 20th and September 05th, 1977, are bound for the stars, now, after their visits to the outer planets of our solar system (mission status: https://voyager.jpl.nasa.gov/mission/status/). They carry a gold- plated copper phonograph record, which comprises 90 minutes of music selected from all cultures next to sounds, spoken messages, and images from our planet Earth. There is rather little hope that any extraterrestrial form of life will ever come along the Voyager spacecrafts. But if this is yet going to happen they are likely able to understand the sound of music from these records at least.
