The film, based on DC Comics characters, stars Joaquin Phoenix as the Joker. In addition to its traditional spooky film fare, this year's festival also includes an H.P. Lovecraft Walking Tour and a horror book signing with local author Christopher Rondina. The 2009 festival will have a focus on local filmmakers, which will run as a thread throughout the screenings.
