Finney Pavilion. The sale has been a part of the fabric of Saratoga for nearly a century – 2017 marks the 97th rendition. The sale remains a boutique showcase of well-bred yearlings on grounds near Saratoga Race Course, but there has been plen- ty of change in the past 50 years. In 1967, the sale lasted four days, Tuesday through Friday, with slightly more than 60 hors- es going through the ring each night. The catalog included 269 yearlings, with each consignor selling their whole draft on a des- ignated evening. Humphrey S.
