A Centenary Event for the Exmoor Society

THE VIRTUAL SUMMER SHOW

ALL WELCOME. EXTENSION TO CLOSING DATE: 11:59pm, Saturday 7th August. Entry Fee: £5 per class. Placings 1st-6th in each class and any competitor that has not won a rosette in any class will receive a special rosette. Everybody that participates in an EPS Centenary Event in 2021 will receive a commemorative rosette from the Society at the end of the year.

Each entry will require two photographs and a short video (not to exceed 200MB). All photographs and videos must have been taken on or after the 14th June 2021. WORKING HUNTER PONY CLASSES

Judge: Mr M Dewhurst (Darshill) Pick-a-Height Working Hunter Pony Classes: riders any age, all ponies welcome. Courses can be built of whatever you have available to you that is safe to jump but fences must be within the heights specified in the class you have entered. A minimum of five jumps must be included in the video, along with a change of rein. This class will be judged on the manners of the pony and the jumping style of the pony & rider. 19. 30-40cm – leading rein ponies are welcome in this class. 20. 50-60cm 21. Over 65cm. Working Hunter Pony Championship – 1st and 2nd Prizewinners in Classes 19-22.

UTILITY PONY

Judge: Miss L. Booth (Hurtstock) The pony & handler/rider must complete a set number of tasks and will be judged according to how well they are executed. Utility Pony Classes: All obstacles have been designed to be able to be adapted to most situations & available equipment and can be executed in any order in the video. Get creative!

The most creative obstacle in the Freestyle class will receive a special rosette.

ENTRY INFORMATION & RULES

This is an event for Exmoor Ponies registered in Section 1 of the EPS Studbook, although Section X and unregistered Exmoor ponies may enter the fun classes and the utility pony section.

1. Entry to the show is at your own risk, we cannot be held responsible for your participation in this event. It is your responsibility to ensure the safety of your handlers, riders and ponies. 2. This show will be run in accordance with the rules of the Exmoor Pony Society. All photographs and videos must have been taken on or after the 14th June, 2021. 4. No professional photography or videography 5. All videos must be filmed in landscape. 6. Once the entries for this event have closed, substitutions or alterations to submitted footage will not be accepted. 7. Ridden ponies must be 4 years old or over. 8. Properly fastened BSI standard riding hats must always be worn when mounted and for handlers under the age of 14. 9. There should be no writing included in any videos and no talking to the camera (except to state age in veteran & young handler classes). 10. The welfare of ponies is paramount and no lame, sick or overly fat or underweight ponies should be exhibited. 11. Whips are not permitted in classes 23-28. 12. Spurs are not permitted in any class. 13. Video submissions will be used to create spectator videos. Photographs and videos may also be used for promotional purposes. A catalogue will be available to download on ShowingScene.com on Sunday 8th August. The first spectator video will be live on Monday 9th August on the ExieFest YouTube Channel and subsequent videos will be released each evening at 8pm. Results will become available once spectator videos and judging has concluded.

CREATING YOUR VIDEOS & PHOTOGRAPHS

We are aware that everybody will have different facilities and equipment available to them. We’d like to welcome you to have a go regardless of your situation – just do your best!  We welcome those that wish to wear showing attire and for those that don’t, all we ask is that you are safe and smart. We’d like this show to be accessible to everybody and welcome any questions or anybody requiring support (Show Secretary’s contact details below). Classes 1-9 (In-hand Classes) require two photographs; one taken from the side of the pony and one taken from in front of the pony and a short video of your individual show (walk away, trot back towards the camera and a trot viewed from the side). For lone handlers, please do the best you can for the judge to assess your pony's movement (e.g. pony on the lunge, moving loose in a small enclosure). Class 10 (Veteran) will require the same as classes 1-9, but please state the pony’s age to the camera at the start of the video. Class 11 (Young Handler) requires the same as classes 1-9, but the handler should state their age to the camera at the start of the video. Class 12 (Best Trick) requires a video of your trick! You can be creative in this class. You’ll need to upload two photographs as a requirement of the host website, but these will not be included in the judging. Class 13 (Family Pony) requires two photographs that best represent your pony's personality and a short video showing what makes your pony suitable for all the family. Class 14 (Fancy Dress) requires two photographs and a video showing your fancy dress costume. Class 15 (Leading Rein) requires two photographs - one from the side and one from in front and a short video of your individual show - walk and trot only. The handler should state the child’s age to the camera at the start of the video. Class 16 (Junior Ridden) requires two photographs - one from the side and one from in front and a short video of your individual show – canter is optional. The handler should state the child’s age to the camera at the start of the video. Class 17 (Novice Ridden) requires two photographs - one from the side and one from in front and a short video showing your individual show to include a canter on each rein. Class 18 (Open Ridden) requires two photographs - one from the side and one from in front and a short video showing your individual show to include a canter on each rein, an extension/gallop on one rein is optional. Classes 19-21 (Working Hunter Pony) require a video of your round of jumps and the video should show the pony both starting and finishing in a halt. You’ll need to upload two photographs as a requirement of the host website, but these will not be included in the judging, please do not upload professional photographs as we would still potentially use them for publicity. Classes 22-25 (Utility Pony) requires a video of the pony undertaking as many of the obstacles/movements as possible. You’ll need to be creative in building your obstacles & test space with what equipment you have available to you – any queries, please contact the Show Secretary. You’ll need to upload two photographs as a requirement of the host website, but these will not be included in the judging. ______

The judges will be able to remotely log into the website in order to view your photographs and videos after the closing date and place them accordingly. All entries will be anonymous to the judge.

By entering the show, you agree to the EPS’ Privacy Policy which includes the ability for the ExieFest and the Exmoor Pony Society to use photographs and videos submitted for promotional purposes and to enter your data into a show catalogue. A copy of the ExieFest Privacy Policy is available on the ExieFest website and will be available to view when you make your entries.
