Undersökningen ska även besvara de förändringar eller icke- förändringar som skett, samt hur kulturen påverkar utformandet av skivomslag inom varje musikgenre. Syftet är att får en ökad förståelse och inblick i kopplingen mellan musikgenre och bild i utformandet av skivomslag. Med hjälp av den semiotiska bildanalysen har skivomslagen analyserats under två olika tidsperioder. Resultaten av analyserna visar att båda musikgenrerna har gått över till mer tolkningsbara skivomslag. De äldre skivomslagen är mer genrespecifika än de senare, detta hör också till att de senare blivit mer tolkningsbara då alla de äldre skivomslagen hade någon form av artist- eller banduppställning. Slutsatsen är att det är tydligt att båda musikgenrerna är mansdominerade, men detta syns främst i de äldre skivomslagen där de har artist- eller banduppställning. Båda musikgenrerna har gått ifrån den uppställningen som tidigare dominerade skivomslagen och har nu övergått till motiv som är mer öppna för tolkning som kan göra innehållet av skivan tydligare. Sedan dess har han fortsatt att leverera rytmer, rim och revolution på albumen "The Long Distance Runner", "White Mans Burden" och "Standard Bearer". Promoe har visserligen släppt låtar på svenska på vinyltolvor och samlingsskivor, men på sina soloskivor och med Looptroop har Promoe hållit sig ifrån det svenska modersmålet. För första gången släpper han nu ett helt album på svenska. Albumet har titeln "Kråksången" och medverkar gör producenter som Astma, Filthy, DJ Large och Jimmy Ledrac samt gästvokalister som Timbuktu, Supreme, Afasi, PSTQ och Vincent. Promoe går på "Kråksången" allt djupare in i sina observationer av vår värld och i denna tid med rådande lågkonjunktur behöver vi hans röst mer än någonsin. När höstens mörker drar fram över det karga svenska landet plöjer sig profeten Edh fram likt en fackla i natten och i ljuset av detta leverera både "Svennebanan"och andra folkliga hymner. De är den största svenska hiphop-exporten genom tiderna.I år gör Looptroop Rockers en enda spelning. Det blir på Putte i Parken. Looptroop Rockers, tidigare bara Looptroop, är legendarer inom svensk rap och hiphop. Det stora genombrottet fick man 2005 med albumet "Fort Europa"och turnén som följde på den. Vid det laget var Looptrock Rockers redan stora utomlands - efter publiksuccéer i Tyskland och USA. I februari 2007 lämnade en av grundarna, CosM.I.C Looptroop som då officiellt bytte namn till Looptroop Rockers. Gruppen har turnerat flitigt och har ett grundmurat rykte som ett fantastiskt liveband. 2009 blir det dock bara en enda spelning för Promoe, Supreme och Embee. Syftet med vår uppsats är att studera hur hiphopdiskursen ser ut i svensk dagspress och diskutera samt kartlägga de återkommande teman som kategoriserar den. Vår frågeställning är som följer; Hur skildras svensk hiphop i svensk dagspress? För att ta reda på detta, har vi undersökt texter vi hittat i Dagens Nyheter och Svenska Dagbladet, eftersom dessa två tidningar är främst representativa för vad som idag är svensk dagspress. Artiklarna har vi hittat på Internet, och vi valde dessa utifrån ett strategiskt urval baserat på ett antal variabler som har betydelse för vår undersökning. De valdes ut eftersom de behandlar just svensk hiphop. Uppsatsen är baserad på en kritisk diskursanalys där vi utifrån Faircloughs idéer om den diskursiva händelsen, den diskursiva praktiken och dess konsekvenser ur ett socialkonstruktionistiskt perspektiv, analyserar både diskursen och dess konsekvenser. Uppsatsen utforskar alltså återkommande teman i samtliga texter, och därefter tar vi fasta på vad som är typiskt för hiphopdiskursen i svensk dagspress. Till vår hjälp har vi dessutom personer som tilhör den alternativa kulturoffentligheten eller så kallade insiders, alltså personer som är insatta i den svenska hiphopscenen och som därför kan kommentera och svara på frågor om fördomar och mediebilder. Dessa individer har fungerat som motpoler när våra undersökningar kommit fram till att hiphopdiskursen är låst till att porträttera genren som hotfull eller kopplad till kriminalitet och det hårda livet.
