About 70% of the people live in Pillaton Village itself. Caradon District Council and the Parish Council. Local interest groups were consulted on the design of a questionnaire which was Land use in the Parish is dominated by farming, although less than 10% of distributed to all households. After analysis by members of the resident workers are employed in this industry. The only large employer is committee, a summary of the survey results was delivered to all Kernock Plants, a thriving specialist nursery with some 120 employees. Most parishioners. These results together with proposed residents work outside the Parish, and Pillaton is effectively a dormitory recommendations for the Parish Plan were then discussed at a village for people employed in Plymouth and South-East Cornwall. public meeting held in January 2004. Subsequent to this meeting, full details were published in both the Cornish Times and the Pillaton Village News. The working party has based this Plan on that together with feedback received from other meetings. THE PLAN From the results of the survey and other feedback from public consultation, the working group has identified the issues that are regarded as of most importance and concern by parishioners. This Plan is built on those issues and problems where some kind of action is felt to be necessary and feasible, and each action is then linked to the actual and potential partners whose help will be needed to perform it. Approximate time-scales are identified for completion or significant progress on each action while some have already been carried out. Responsibility for carrying out the Plan lies with a number of agencies and bodies, and it is also clear that greater community involvement will be needed in a number of areas. We hope that this whole exercise will generate sufficient enthusiasm, interest, commitment and funding to enable a number of parishioners' desires to be realised.
