Historical Homicide Data was pulled from the Crime in the US, Uniform Crime Report (UCR), 1960‐2014 Reports1, and Crime in Kentucky, Kentucky Uniform Crime Report, 1971‐2014 Reports2. 2015 and 2016 and 2017 data is Preliminary UCR data as of the date this report was completed.
Prior to 2003, LMPD Totals were computed by combining the number of homicides from Louisville Division of Police and Jefferson County Police Depart‐ ment. Jeff Co Totals were computed by combining LMPD totals with Shively Police Department, St. Matthews Police Department, and Jeffersontown Police Department. All data for Shively Police Department, St. Matthews Police Department, and Jeffersontown Police Department were taken from Crime in the US, Uniform Crime Report (UCR), 1960‐2014.
* Denotes data pulled from Crime in Kentucky Report ** 1960‐1969 Crime in the US, Uniform Crime Report (UCR) only reported data on cities with population of 25,000 or more. *** No data reported. NOTE: Kentucky did not report UCR in 1988; totals reflect data reported in the Crime in Kentucky Report 1988.
