The Department for Self Reliance (DSR) and the Family Assistance Services (NFAS) programs Remain Open to Provide Essential Services During the Extended Stay at Home Lockdown

Window Rock, Ariz. - President and Vice President Myron Lizer extended the Navajo Nation’s Declaration of a State of Emergency, Navajo Nation Executive Order No. 003-21, extending the closure of Navajo Nation government services through Sunday, February 7, 2021. The Department for Self Reliance (DSR) and Navajo Family Assistance Services (NFAS) are essential and will provide services through telephone, fax, and online technology. DSR and NFAS staff will be available by telephone and email, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. All DSR offices do not allow the general public, applicants, or Customers, access to the inside of their offices. All DSR and NFAS services are need-based programs that require an application to determine eligibility for assistance. Call your local DSR office to request an application for DSR/NFAS services. To download a Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) application visit, www.nndsr.navajo-nsn.gov. Email [email protected] to request an application for any of the following NFAS programs: General Assistance (GA), Burial Assistance, Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP), or the Community Services Block Grant (CSBG). Drop boxes are available at each DSR location during regular business hours. When dropping off your application or documents, please call the DSR office to alert them of your drop off.
