There was a problem with accommodation this year with accommodation logistics the Scottish athletes being separate from myself as coach as my details were booked through BS and I ended up in a separate hotel from the Scottish athletes even though the same hotel was requested. Not ideal!! All matches and finals run to ISSF timings, no Equipment Control. Outline of Competition Sius Ascor electronic targets used at 50m and the finals hall is very logistics nice, very atmospheric. Everything run as it should for a top class competition, however there were a very high number of disqualifications post competition at this event. The focus appeared to be on the use of 2 separate stiffness machines used for the pre-competition check and post- competition check and they were in different locations. Outline of Competition Subsequently this was looked into by the ISSF and it was interesting logistics to note that apparently there were no HITEX stiffness related disqualifications. All stiffness related DSQs were of canvas or canvas composite manufacture. Also there has been a question raised over the effectivity of the measuring equipment to be consistent in varying atmospheric conditions. No doubt more will be said on this in the future.
