The Latest Version of Revised Public Transport Reorganisation Plan to tie in with the Commissioning of the WIL

Reorganisation of CTB 40 and 40M

Concerned Routes: CTB 40: Wah Fu (North) – Ferry Pier CTB 40M: Wah Fu (North) – Admiralty (Government Headquarters)

Details of Proposal: (1) To amalgamate CTB 40M with CTB 40.

(2) To divert CTB 40 (Wan Chai bound) via “, , , Garden Road, Queen’s Road Central, Central, , , Murray Road, …” to maintain the bus service from the vicinity of Bonham Road (eastern section) and Caine Road to Wanchai via Central.

In addition, to divert NWFB 13 (Central bound) via Robinson Road eastbound in order to provide an alternative choice for Robinson Road residents for going to Central.

(3) To extend the service hour and increase the current 3 trips to 5 trips of CTB 40P (Wah Fu (North) to Robinson Road), the morning peak service from Wah Fu to Western Mid-levels, to cope with the passenger demand of Southern District to Western Mid-Levels for work and school.

(4) To introduce Octopus interchange concessions between CTB 40 and CTB 12M/ NWFB 23 to facilitate passengers travelling from Wah Fu and to Robinson Road.

(5) To introduce Octopus interchange concession between CTB 12M and 12. Except taking diverted NWFB 13, residents of Robinson Road can use this interchange concession travelling to Central.

Meanwhile, in addition to original proposed BBIs, the following new BBIs will be introduced to offer more choices to residents of Robinson Road heading to Wan Chai:-

(i) To introduce Octopus interchange concession from CTB 12/12M/NWFB 13 to CTB 930/930A at Central or Admiralty heading to Wan Chai Ferry; (ii) To introduce Octopus interchange concession from CTB 12/NWFB 13 to CTB 40 at St. John’s Cathedral Garden Road heading to Wan Chai Ferry.

For those affected passengers of CTB 40M who are travelling from Central to Wah Fu, they may choose bus routes such as NWFB 4 and 4X (except public holidays) to travel to Pok Fu Lam and Wah Fu. For those making use of CTB 40M at the Government Headquarters, they may make use of the footbridge to take CTB 40, which provides more direct and frequent service, at Queensway.
