WHO WE ARE Coffee Kids is program of Hanns R. Neumann Stiftung North America (HRNS), a global 501(c)(3) nonprofit with over 250 staff in offices across Latin America, Africa, and Asia. HRNS focuses on providing deep and lasting support to coffee communities - individual coffee farmers, their families, and farmer organizations.

WHAT WE DO HRNS prioritizes the development of strong farmer organizations, climate resilience, and the integration of women and youth. We know that young farmers are the caretakers of a crop that we all love, and that without their leadership there is no viable future for coffee. Hanns R. Neumann Stiftung (HRNS) tirelessly advocates for industry leaders, traders, and other nonprofits to take the needs and perspectives of young farmers seriously.

Our Rural Business Workshops help young farmers develop the skills to launch their own businesses and connect to the global coffee industry. Like a "business school for farmers," the workshops combine training, mentorship, and financing to help young farmers see themselves as entrepreneurs, develop the skills to launch their own businesses, and make empowered decisions.

WHAT ARE COFFEE DAYS?

So every day, it would seem, is Coffee Day. But there are two specific days when we get to celebrate coffee in a BIG way! September 29 is officially recognized as National Coffee Day in the US and October 1 is International Coffee day. Think of them as holidays for coffee lovers.

WHY DO SOMETHING DIFFERENT?

We believe that coffee farmers can change the world. Celebrating a Coffee Day is your opportunity to give back to the farmers who bring you your daily cup. For businesses, it’s a way to demonstrate to your customers that you care about fairness, the environment, and future generations-- all problems that can be solved with coffee!

HOW CAN YOU BE INVOLVED?

Everyone can be involved! Together, we can bring meaning to a day characterized by freebies, deals, and coupons by focusing on the being behind the bean.

WHY SHOPS & BUSINESSES?

Small Businesses supporting the small businesses that drive ! There are a number of ways to harness the power of community in your shop from hosting a fundraiser or dedicating a portion of proceeds of sales on your local Coffee Day, coffee shops are the perfect space to raise awareness and support for Coffee Kids!

3 WAYS TO GET INVOLVED

% OF PROCEEDS Create a drink, blend, or other item and dedicate a portion of proceeds of sales to Coffee Kids.

INVOLVE YOUR CUSTOMERS If your customers are like you, they care about the future of coffee and the people who grow it. Ask them if they want to donate to Coffee Kids. HOST AN EVENT Harness the power of your community by hosting an educational event to raise awareness and funds to empower the next generation of coffee farmers. We'll help you with promotion and materials too!
