Bxtreme's 11Th Annual Spring Dance Recital! BXtreme’s 11th Annual Spring Dance Recital! Rehearsal: Friday June 4th 9:00-10:30 AM: Just Matinee dancers. 10:30 AM-approximately 3:00 PM: Evening shows. 1. Dancers should come dressed in their costume or first costume, if they have more than one dance. Bring all shoes in a dance bag. (Mark their dance bags with their names and make sure names or initials are on all shoes) 2. Dancers should come with FULL Recital make-up and hair. New Beginnings and Creative Movement students DO NOT need to wear foundation for REHEARSAL OR RECITAL. They should wear shadows, blush and the Scarlet lipstick in our make-up packet or reddish lipgloss if it is not too early for them. We want them to be happy for Rehearsal, so only use if they are willing. 3. Day of Rehearsal: Use the South entrance of the Event Center. 4. Rows will be marked in the audience with class days and times. Dancers should sit with their classes. Moms of New Beginnings and Creative Movement may sit with dancers. Otherwise, Moms may sit behind dancers in the audience. 5. You may video dances and take still pictures during Rehearsal. NO Videos or pictures will be allowed during the shows. 6. We will have a videographer, Ben Viergutz, filming the shows. DVD’s and Blu-Rays will be available. Multiple shows may be selected on the order form. (All will be available in one case.) DVD’s will be $25 and Blu-Ray’s- $30. More information will follow. 7. We will be starting with our Finale for all dancers and then go straight through the shows. You may leave after your dancer’s last dance. 8. Please make sure you take home ALL costumes, bags and shoes after Rehearsal! Recital: June 4,5 All dancers should arrive in their first dance costume, hair and make-up ready. Evening Recital Shows: June 4,5: Pre-show (Solos and duets) – 4:30 PM--Dancers should arrive at 4:00 PM Show -- 6:00 PM—Dancers should arrive at 5:30 PM Matinee Show: June 5th: 10:30 AM—Dancers should arrive by 10:00 AM Flowers, gifts and snack packs: We will be selling floral bouquets from Floral Expressions at all shows as well as smaller gift packages for the younger dancers. These will be available in the entryway at each show. Make sure you purchase one for your dancer! Hair and Make-up Recital Hair: 1. New Beginnings and Creative Movement: 2. Dancers may wear their hair down and curly with sides of hair pulled away from the face with clips the same color as the hair or pulled back into a small high ponytail in back. (Use a ponytail holder in the same color as the hair.) 3. All other Classes, Low Donut Bun—Outlined below: Recital Tip - Kid Proof Buns • Slick hair back, with a middle part, using a wet brush and hair spray. • Apply more hair spray. • Then comb with the wet brush. • Pull hair back into a low ponytail in line with the ears. • Use a donut bun or a bun wrap to create the bun. (These can be purchase at Claire’s, Sally’s or Amazon. • Your goal is a neat round bun. • Secure bun with heavy hair pins and bobby pins ,(same color as the hair) Cross or X the pins to anchor them. • Try to smooth out all whispies and remember no bangs. If your dancer is wearing flowers, hair piece, head band, or hat on stage it must be secured with bobby pins so that it will not fall out. (Hair pieces are to worn on the dancer’s right side.) Details, Details, Details... • The little things that we sometimes do not notice will become glaringly obvious in the stage lights. • Be sure to snip any strings. • Make sure tights are not sagging at the ankles. Wear new tights. • Shoes should be spotless. Soft scrub is great to clean leather shoes, especially if they have had stickers on their shoes. • Check for nail polish, tattoos, dirty shoes & tights, anything that will pop out and draw your eye. • Make sure all children in the class have their tutus on the same way and their straps are attached the same as well. ANYTHING you are unsure about - Please ask! Recital Make-up We have gone with Mary Kay make-up for the last several years. You do not have to use this make-up; however, these are the shades you need to match if using your own make-up. Please place your order by May 1st if you are interested in purchasing the Mary Kay make-up. You will receive a 15% discount on the package. 1. Moonstone and Hazelnut eye shadows. Moonstone is on the left and Hazelnut on the right, below. $8.00 each Moonstone on brow, Hazelnut in the crease. Black eyeliner for 10 and older. 10 and older--use Moonstone on brow, Hazelnut on lid, Espresso or darker brown shadow in the crease. 2. A mediocre Times Past issue tells of Ted's first encounter with The Mist - unnecessary details that didn't illuminate Nash's vengeance on the supporting players in this one-off enough to merit telling. I liked the arc a lot more this time - when I first read it, I almost dropped the series. The ending, that their selfless offer would let them go free, seemed too predictable. I've seen Oh God, You Devil! A Christmas issue, solid, and a Mikaal Times Past, again solid, follow. I enjoy them now - but to a newbie reader who'd just discovered the series a few issues before these, I remember thinking the book was all over the place and only grudgingly decided to give it a sixth issue to impress me. I tried to give a new series six issues to lay its groundwork. The final chapter included here is the one that hooked me: Jake Benetti returns from jail, tries to figure out where he fits into modern Opal City, figures he doesn't, decides to heist a bank to get thrown back in jail, and winds up helping Jack defeat the Royal Flush Gang. Good times, fun, terrific character in Jake. Oct 18, Mario Mikon rated it it was amazing. Here we have great developments to the blue guy story Also, I think this is the start of the REAL magic of the Starman run: how come James Robinson transformed old and lame characters into awesome characters?
