The Need for a Youth Choir by Hop David I love music, it’s is one of the most wonderful gifts from God. Music brings us joy, it takes us to another place. I believe making music is one of the things God wants us to do. Some passages from the bible:

Psalm 98:1-7 Psalm 57:7 1 Sing to the LORD a new song, for he has done marvelous things; 7 My heart, O God is steadfast, my heart is steadfast; I will sing his right hand and his holy arm have worked salvation for him. and make music. 2 The LORD has made his salvation known and revealed his righteousness to the nations. 3 He has remembered his love and his 2 Chronicles 5:13 faithfulness to Israel; all the ends of the earth have seen the salva- 13 The trumpeters and musicians joined in unison to give parise tion of our God. 4 Shout for joy to the LORD, all the earth, burst and thanks to the LORD. Most kids day dream about being a musician but to make good music takes practice. Few kids (or adults) have the self discipline to set a regular practice schedule and stick to it. That’s where the church can come in. A church choir provides the structure and place to meet and practice. A lot of big time musicians got their start in church choirs. Here are a few I got from Googling and reading Wikipedia articles:

Our family became active in the parish when daughters joined the Mikus’s children’s choir. It brought us into the church and we formed new friendships.
