RULES AND REGULATIONS

1. The Organizers of this show have taken reasonable precaution to ensure the health and safety of everyone present. For these measures to be effective everyone must take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents occurring and must obey the instructions of the Organizers and all the Officials and Stewards.

2. Horse riders must wear a hard hat of a standard approved by the governing body under whose rules they are exhibiting.

3. Entries on the day will be accepted at double the entry fee providing the section is not fully subscribed. Current Passports must be shown on entry.

4. Any exhibitor that has entered on the day and is placed in classes 1 to 25 will not be awarded the prize money on show day as this will be posted after the Sport Horse Breeding (GB) have checked the registration of the winning animal.

5. No Entry Fees will be refunded or otherwise made available except on cancellation of Show.

6. No substitution of exhibits is permitted

7. All Trophies are presented for annual competition and must be returned to the General Secretary one month before the date of the next show, with the exception of the Breeders Trophies which must be returned one month before the Yorkshire Sport Horse Annual Dinner in November. SPONSORS IN 2010

IRISH DRAUGHT SPECIAL ROSETTE SCHEME The Irish Draught Horse Society (GB) will award Special Incentive Rosettes to the highest placed pure or part bred Irish Draught exhibit in Classes 1 – 5, 7-13. All exhibits must be registered or identified with the IDHS (GB) on either their Pure Bred or Sport Horse Register. Registration/Identification numbers should be given on the entry form.

A Special Rosette and £15 will be awarded for the Highest Placed Horse bred by a breeder based in Yorkshire (see page 3) in each of the Classes 1 – 5

Class 3 YEARLING Potential Sport Horse. Open to any Colt, Gelding or Filly foaled in 2010. (SHB(GB) Registered number must be quoted on the Entry Form)

Class 5 THREE YEAR OLD Potential Sport Horse. Open to any Colt, Gelding or Filly foaled in 2008. (SHB(GB) Registered number must be quoted on the Entry Form)

Judge: Mr M Fitton, Manchester Prize Money Class 6 Vouchers to the value of First £40, Second £15, Third £15, Fourth £15, Fifth £15, Sixth £15. Rosettes to 6th place. £30 to highest placed Four Year Old. A Blue Chip Cap will be awarded to every competitor who qualifies. The two highest placed horses will qualify that haven’t already qualified.

Class 6 BLUE CHIP FOUR, FIVE & SIX YEAR OLD FLAT RIDDEN SPORT HORSE This class is a qualifier for the Blue Chip Flat Ridden Sport Horse Championship. To be held at the National Hunter Supreme Championship Show at Addington Manor Equestrian Centre, Buckinghamshire on 7th September 2011. Horses to be show on the flat, will not be required to jump. Snaffle bridles must be worn. Note. The favoured discipline e.g. dressage, eventing or show jumping for each exhibit MUST be stated on the entry form. Horses have to be registered with SHB(GB). Horses will not be ridden by the judge but will be required to give a short individual show of walk, trot & canter of approximately 1 minute, to be awarded marks out of a possible 20 for each pace. Lengthened strides in trot and canter must be shown. Marks out of a possible 20 will also be awarded for suitability for the chosen discipline. All horses are required for a conformation assessment to be awarded marks out of a possible 50.

YORKSHIRE SPORT HORSE (SHB OF GB) AWARDS FOR 2011 CLASSES 7 – 13 QUALIFYING SHOWS FOR ALL AWARDS:

Otley, Hambleton, Great Yorkshire Show, Malton, Driffield, Huby & Sutton on Forest, Ryedale and Yorkshire Sport Horse Show. (Double points awarded at this show only).

BROODMARE VOUCHERS A Broodmare Voucher worth £100 and Rosette will be awarded in the Broodmare Class(es) to the highest placed mare, with own foal at foot, not having already won a voucher. The owner of the mare to reside in Yorkshire and the Voucher to be used on ANY currently registered SHB (GB) Graded Stallion in either 2012 or 2013. The Voucher is not transferable and no mare to win more than ONE voucher in a year.

BREEDERS PREMIUMS (FOALS and YOUNG STOCK) 1. Premiums - FOALS £50.00 and a Rosette will be awarded to the BREEDER , who must reside in Yorkshire, of the best foal, sired by a SHB Graded Stallion currently registered in the year of covering. 2. Premiums – YOUNGSTOCK £50.00 and a Rosette will be awarded to the BREEDER, who must reside in Yorkshire of the best yearling, two year old and three year old sired by any SHB (BG) Graded Stallion currently registered in the year of covering. Only one award may be won in one season. 3. Payment To ensure the award goes to the BREEDER, who may not be the exhibitor, a postcard will be attached to the rosette awarded at the show. The winner must complete the details of the postcard (including the name and address of the breeder) and return it, to enable the £50.00 premium to be sent to the BREEDER. The show secretary does not handle any money in connection with this award.

BREEDERS CHAMPIONSHIPS 1. Foal Championship The BREEDER of the Champion Foal will receive a Trophy and £100.00 and the BREEDER of the Reserve Champion will receive £50.00

2. Young Stock Championship (1, 2 & 3 year olds) The BREEDER of the Champion from 1, 2 & 3 year olds will receive a Trophy and £100.00 and the BREEDER of the Reserve Champion will receive a Trophy and £50.00.

These prizes are awarded at the end of the year to the Foals and Young stock who have gained the most points at the qualifying Shows. i.e. 4 for First; 3 for Second, 2 for Third and 1 for Fourth. In the event of a tie, the horse with the most Wins, will take precedence.

Sport Horse Breeding of Great Britain Brood Mare Premiums The Society offers 2 Brood Mare Premiums at this Show. (The premium will only be awarded if there are a minimum of three mares for it in the class)The Premiums take the form of a service voucher valued at £100 awarded at the Judge’s discretion to their selection from the monetary prizewinners, to be used towards the cost of covering the mare by any SHB(GB) graded stallion or life approved premium stallion. The service voucher may be used in either of the two years following the year of that award. The owner must be, or become, a fully paid up member. NOTE: Grade 1 and 2 mares are eligible to be transferred into the new SHB(GB) Stud Book.

IMPORTANT: Exhibitors must insert the name of the sire of the mare’s 2011 foal on the entry form.

BLUE CHIP & IDHS(GB) £2000 CHALLENGE 2011

This Show is a Qualifier for the BLUE CHIP & IDHS (GB) £2,000 CHALLENGE. The highest placed horse from classes 14-17, 25 that is registered or eligible for registration on the Irish Draught or ID Sport Horse Register, i.e. with a minimum of 25% proven Irish Draught Breeding. Horses need not be registered to qualify but must be on the IDHS (GB) registers by the time of the Championship, which will be held at the IDHS (GB) Annual Breed Show on 10th & 11th September at Onley Grounds Equestrian Centre.NB: A horse may only qualify for the Final once, regardless of the type or number of classes won, placed in or entered. Each qualifier will receive a rosette and £10 voucher from Blue Chip.Qualifiers are required to complete an on line form at www.idhsgb.com to inform the IDHS(GB) that they have qualified for the final. Following submission of the online form, a qualifiers pack will be sent out, including the £10 Blue Chip Feeds voucher. In the final the Champion will be awarded £1,000 prize money, a trophy and a Blue Chip rug. The Reserve Champion will be awarded £500 and 3rd to 7th inclusive will be awarded £100 each, Also the highest placed Pure Bred Irish Draught will receive a trophy and £100 and the highest placed 15.2hh and under will receive a trophy and £50.

“HORSE OF THE YEAR SHOW” (HOYS) QUALIFYING CLASSES

ALL HUNTER CLASSES WILL BE JUDGED UNDER THE SOCIETY’S RULES.

ALL HUNTER CLASSES WILL BE JUDGED UNDER THE SOCIETY’S RULES.

Classes 14 - 17 are qualifying events for this years NHSCS and only horses registered on the current year (2011) show hunter register are eligible to enter. Registration numbers must be quoted on the entry forms and owners and riders must be members of the society. The three highest placed horses in each class will qualify to enter at the NHSCS. No horse lower than third place in his class will qualify.

Class 25 *OPEN WORKING HUNTER Mare or Gelding, four years old and upward. For horses exceeding 148cm (approx. 14.2 hh) Grade A Showjumpers & Advanced Eventers are not eligible to compete. To be judged 60% for jumping performance, 40% as for Hunter Classes. The jumping to be judged 40% for actual jumping and 20% for style and presence whilst jumping. 40% to be split between ride and conformation. There will be between eight and twelve fences with a maximum height of 1.14m (approx. 3ft 9ins). Both number and height will be at the discretion of the judge. Fences should have a natural appearance and not be easily dislodged and all obstacles are to be numbered. The manner of going to be taken into account. No change of rider or tack will be allowed. Horses are allowed to wear protective boots of a plain colour in the jumping phase only. No hind boots or bandages of any description are allowed in the collection ring, warm up or in the actual class. In the event of a tie in the marks, the conformation mark will take precedence, followed by the ride mark, followed by the style mark. Class 26 THE TATTERSALLS AND ROR THOROUGHBRED RIDDEN SHOW HORSE CLASS Thoroughbred Mare or Gelding, 4 years old or over and of any height. Riders must be 15 years old or over. Horses should be ridden in a snaffle, pelham or simple double bridle. Horses should be plaited. The first two go forward to the Championship at the Hickstead Derby Meeting 2012. Qualification will do down to fourth place if the first two have already qualified. All entries MUST be registered with Weatherbys in their General Stud Book and MUST also be registered with the ROR. This class is open to thoroughbreds that have RACED. There will be a prize for the highest placed veteran 15 years or over. The class will be run under the rules RoR. Horses to be ridden by the judge. Competitors must wear a safety/kite mark hard hat with a chinstrap.

The Retrained Racehorse Challenge supported by Tattersalls, RoR and SEIB

Class 27 THE RETRAINED RACEHORSE CHALLENGE Mare or gelding 4 years old and over and of any height. Riders must be 15 years old or over.Horses to be ridden in any suitable bridle and should be plaited. The first three qualify for the final at Royal Windsor Show 2012.. All entries must be registered with Weatherbys in their General Stud Book and with RoR. This class is open to thoroughbreds that HAVE raced only. There will be a prize for the highest placed veteran 15 years or over. Horses will NOT be ridden by the judge. Competitors must wear a safety/kite mark hard hat with a chinstrap. The class to be judged : 40% style of jumping a mixture of 8 rustic/ coloured fences. 20% style while jumping and performance. 20% awarded for individual show and 20% conformation and suitability to be retrained.

PHASE 1 Jumping to be judged: 8 rustic/ coloured jumps maximum height of fences (3’0). The following points to be deducted at the end of each jumping round: 3 points to be deducted for a knock down. 4 points to be deducted for a refusal. 40 marks maximum (5 each fence). 20 extra marks style and performance while jumping.

PHASE 2 Class returns without boots and judged for an individual show/conformation.(In some classes at the judge’s discretion, horses might be asked to do a ‘show’ following their jumping without leaving the ring.This is often the case with a large number in the class) Each horse to complete an individual show. Show to include the following movements: Trop, canter serpentine, extended canter (gallop) halt and stand, walk off on long rein. Total marks out of 20 (to include performance, amount of retraining, suitability to diversity). Each horse to be presented in front of the judge at the end of the individual show to be judged for conformation and suitability to be retrained. Total marks 20 Racing injuries will be overlooked. SECTION III Conformation & Type. NB Following Section III, the ten horses with the highest marks will proceed to Section IV. In the event of equality of marks at this stage the horse with the higher jumping mark will be given precedence. Should this still produce an equality of marks, all horses on that same jumping mark will come forward. SECTION IV Suitability & Potential. Only the top ten horses are required for this section where they will be judged for star quality and potential to make the ULTIMATE THREE DAY EVENT HORSE. These horses will be required to gallop. NB in the event of equality of marks at the end, I.e. after all four sections, the higher jumping mark will be given preference. Should this still produce an equality of marks, the highest mark attained in the final section will be the deciding factor.
