It also represented my first year as the Museum’s ninth Director and the 134th year of our incorporation. On behalf of the entire professional staff and the Trustees of the Art Museum, I am pleased to offer this annual report to outline your Museum’s activities over the past year. During the past year, we opened innovative new antiquities galleries in partnership with the University of Cincinnati, we inaugurated the Rosenthal Education Center as a full-time, free art education program for the public, and we are underway with plans to bring more of our collections on view than ever before. We are on the verge of launching the initial phase of a much sought-after public research tool: access to our collections databases, which will be made possible through a new Museum website. the Louis and Louise Dieterle Nippert Director Letter from I am committed to activating the breadth and depth of the Museum’s collections for greater public benefit. Ultimately, at the Cincinnati Art Museum we collect art as a public trust. That trust calls upon us to teach, to offer opportunities for study, and to LETTER FROM THE LOUIS engage in formal and informal education throughout our city. Programs like Art for Life place us in the pathways of people’s lives and raise our service to all. Look for more frequent and higher impact work in these areas to come. AND LOUISE DIETERLE In the coming year, you will find your Museum embracing its historical role as a civic leader. The Museum’s new strategic plan, formulated with input from across our city, guides us toward the principles upon which we were founded: inspiration, empowerment, education, and community building.
