Meagan Duhamel/Eric Radford (CAN) strike gold Meagan Duhamel/Eric Radford of Canada came from second place in the Short Program to strike the Pairs gold. China’s Wenjing Sui/Cong Han earned the silver medal and Aljona Savchenko/ Bruno Massot of Germany captured the bronze medal in their debut as a team at the World Championships. Duhamel/Radford put out a flawless performance to “Hometown Glory”, nailing a triple twist, side by side triple Lutz, throw quadruple Salchow, triple toe-double toe-double toe combination, a throw triple flip as well as four level-four elements. The Canadian Champions posted a new personal best of 153.81 points and totaled 231.99 points to defend their World title. “It was an out of body experience. We knew we were better than what we’ve done this season. It was to come here and do it for ourselves. Fitness Myths, Training Truths, and Other Surprising Discoveries from the Science of Exercise For Lauren Openmirrors.com Contents Cover Title Page Introduction: What This Book Is (and Isn’t) Chapter 1 - Getting Started Chapter 2 - Fitness Gear Chapter 3 - The Physiology of Exercise Chapter 4 - Aerobic Exercise Chapter 5 - Strength and Power Chapter 6 - Flexibility and Core Strength Chapter 7 - Injuries and Recovery Chapter 8 - Exercise and Aging Chapter 9 - Weight Management Chapter 10 - Nutrition and Hydration Chapter 11 - Mind and Body Chapter 12 - The Competitive Edge Conclusions: From Lab to Gym Acknowledgments Index References About the Author Copyright About the Publisher Introduction: What This Book Is (and Isn’t) WHEN A RESEARCH INSTITUTE in La Jolla, California, issued a press release with the provocative title “Exercise in a Pill” in the summer of 2008, it wasn’t hard to predict the headlines that would be splashed across the next day’s newspapers. “Trying to reap the health benefits of exercise? Forget treadmills and spin classes,” the release proclaimed. “Researchers at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies may have found a way around the sweat and pain.” Feeding a drug called AICAR to a group of mice for four weeks allowed them to run 44 percent longer than drug-free mice, the new study found—without a single step of training. Stories like this are hard to resist. After all, who wouldn’t love a pain-free, effortless shortcut to fitness? That’s why we’re bombarded on a daily basis by similar promises in magazines, on television, over the Internet, and in our spam folders.

  • Műkorcsolya Világversenyek Magyarországon
MŰKORCSOLYA VILÁGVERSENYEK MAGYARORSZÁGON Ez idáig tizenötször rendeztek Magyarországon műkorcsolya világversenyt. - 5 alkalommal világbajnokságot, - 7 alkalommal Európa-bajnokságot és - 3 alkalommal Junior világbajnokságot Nézzük, hogyan is kezdődött. 1895. január 27. FÉRFI EB Az első kontinensbajnokságot a Budapesti Korcsolyázó Egylet megalakulásának 25. évfordulója alkalmából nagyszabású jubileumi ünnepségek keretében rendezték meg 1895. január 27-én a Városligetben, akkor még csak a férfiak részére. Mind a délelőtti iskolagyakorlatokban, mind a délutáni, öt percig tartó, szabad választás szerinti korcsolyázásban Földváry Tibor lett valamennyi bírónál a győztes, ezzel megszerezte a magyar sport első Európa-bajnoki címét. Második a későbbi háromszoros világbajnok osztrák Gustav Hügel lett.

  • Wenjing Sui/Cong Han (CHN) Soar to Pairs Gold in Saitama
March 21, 2019 Saitama, Japan Wenjing Sui/Cong Han (CHN) soar to Pairs gold in Saitama China’s Wenjing Sui/Cong Han soared to the Pairs gold medal as the ISU World Figure Skating Championships in Saitama (JPN) on Thursday. Russia’s Evgenia Tarasova/Vladimir Morozov settled for the silver medal while their teammates Natalia Zabiiako/Alexander Enbert earned the bronze. All three teams set new seasons best scores. Skating last, Sui/Han delivered a brilliant performance to “Rain, In Your Black Eyes” by Ezio Bosso, hitting a triple toe-double toe-double toe combination, triple twist, triple Salchow, throw triple flip and throw triple Salchow as well as level-four lifts. The reigning Olympic silver medalists scored 155.60 points for their Free Skating and moved up from second to first at 234.84 points to win their second World title after 2017. “We are very happy to have shown our best performance and to win this Championship. We had a tough time we could not prepare so well and did not have much time to practice. Our coaches and our team gave us a lot of support and we knew we can make it and get the title. Winning the second time was harder and it was a team effort,” Sui commented. Overnight leaders Tarasova/Morozov turned in a strong performance to “Winter” by Balmorhea that featured a big triple twist, throw triple loop and Salchow as well as spectacular lifts. However, Morozov was somewhat shaky on the solo jumps triple toe and triple Salchow. The two-time European Champions picked up 147.26 points and slipped to second at 228.47 points.
