Wide Receivers Transfers Set to Help Defensive Side of the Football Holmes 12 7 - Despite having just fi ve starters return on defense for the Golden Eagles, Southern Miss added some Martin 18 8 1 strong defensive four-year transfers to help solidify the losses from last season. The Golden Eagles added Ricard 24 20 - defensive linemen Andrew Bolton (Kansas), Naim Mustafaa (Miami), Quincy Russell (Oklahoma) and Robertson 7 1 - linebacker Anthony Swain (Auburn) to the mix for this season and all have made strong contributions Thomas 18 15 5 Thompson 27 9 7 during the 2015 season.

Off ensive Line Solid Defense Again against UTSA Agee 5 2 - Southern Miss held an opponent under 300 yards of total off ense for the second consecutive week Bates 26 3 - against UTSA, limiting the Roadrunners to 205 yards. It was the second time this season that the squad Farmer 19 18 6 held an opponent to under 100 yards passing as UTSA was limited to just 66 yards. The Golden Eagles Farrior 21 14 14 also tied a season-high with fi ve sacks and now have 19 for the season as a team. Harris 12 4 - Hill 38 30 23 Price 16 13 11 Bradley Stop Folks in Backfi eld Again Tom 30 28 28 Dylan Bradley enjoyed his best game of the 2015 season by registering a game-high eight tackles, which included a pair of sacks and three tackles for loss, against Austin Peay. Injuries limited Bradley to just eight games a year ago, but the junior defensive lineman returned as the top defensive player in terms of tackles for loss (4.5) and sacks (3.0). Bradley totaled 29 total tackles last year of which 12 were solos, including a season-high eight stops at UTEP last season. In 2015, Bradley is third on the squad in tackles with 32, of which 9.0 have been for loss, which leads the team, to go along with a team-best fi ve sacks.

Smith Returns as the Dean of the Defensive Front Senior Michael Smith returns with the most game action for the Golden Eagles on the defensive front. Smith has played in 41 career games, including 37 starts and has posted 106 career tackles, including 31 a year ago. He was the only Golden Eagle to start and play in all 12 games in 2013. The Birmingham, Ala., native collected 33 tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss and a blocked kick that season and had a string of 29 straight starts snapped last year after missing the North Texas game with an injury.
