Project area: - - national park - Curonian lagoon

Applicant: Partners: Objectives

1. Preserve 7 types of habitats of European importance, which are part of Natura 2000 network. 2. Create technical base nescesary for balanced protection, managment and monitoring of important habitats and species. 3. Promote understanding and involvment in nature treasure protection, managment and balanced use in local comunities and groups of interest in coastal area of the Baltic Sea. 4. Involve local comunities and visitors in balanced use and managment of habitats and species of European importance. 5. Create and start to use methods and monitoring systems to protect and manage habitats and species of European importance. Results

• The most eroded dunes were reinforced across the area of 300 000 sq. m. and line of 20 000 m. • System of protection, management and monitoring of Lithuanian coastal zone was created and came to working condition. • Conditions for survival of habitats and species of European importance were created in Lithuanian coastal zone. Vanishing coastal grasslands were restored in 500 ha area and that constitute 50% of Lithuanian coastal grasslands.

Local visitors were informed about the European importance habitats and species in the project area. More information about the project:
