CONTACT SHEET Official commemorative range to celebrate the life of HRH The Duke of Edinburgh

An official commemorative range has been produced by Royal Collection Trust to celebrate the life of HRH The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh and pay tribute to his wide-ranging interests. The range includes a collectable fine bone china coffee mug and limited edition tankard, handmade in Stoke-on-Trent using methods and techniques that have remained unchanged for 250 years. The central element of the design is Prince Philip’s personal Cypher and Coronet, surrounded by sprigs of laurel and a ribbon commemorating his life between 1921 and 2021. The oak leaf border detail symbolizes his service in the Royal Navy. A genuine leather bookmark with stitched detail and a gold monogram reflects Prince Philip’s interest in reading. A boxed set of glass whisky tumblers is engraved with emblems of sports pursuits His Royal Highness enjoyed throughout his life, including cricket and polo. Specially created food and drink items including an ale, ginger marmalade and Scottish oatcakes reflect Prince Philip’s personal tastes and his fondness for picnics. A gold-plated bottle opener, taking its shape from a bit, part of a horse’s bridle, pays tribute to The Prince’s love of carriage driving. All profits from sales of the official commemorative items go to The Royal Collection Trust, a registered charity, for the care and conservation of the Royal Collection, and the promotion of access and enjoyment through exhibitions, publications, loans and educational programmes. The items can be purchased online from www.rct.uk/shop, and will be sold in Royal Collection Trust shops at Buckingham Palace, on Buckingham Palace Road, Windsor Castle and the Palace of Holyroodhouse from 24 June.
